The record and lack of improvement are a negative. It would be a big hurdle for him to overcome in an interview.

Terry Brown would definitely be the only one I’d consider if I were Beechwood as well. 
 

Alex Shelton would have no chance but again, just going off the original post of “why not apply”. He played a couple years under Eviston, played at EKU and has been Special Teams coordinator and DB coach at CovCath since he finished playing. Young guy, will be a solid head coach in future, but not ready for a Beechwood. His name first came up when Scott was open.

1a) overall record, year to year record improvement, enrollment numbers (+/-), state championships, regional championships, overall record compared to previous coach

2) Teacher - ability to be in the building

3) Assistant coach 

3a) What program we’re you apart of, success of program while you were on staff, offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, special teams coordinator, overall record while on staff, success of your side of ball while on staff (O, D, ST)

4) Ties to Beechwood/Fort Mitchell/NKY community

4a) Will you be a good steward in the community, be active, and promote other programs, events, and teams

5) Coaching ties

5a) who have you coached for, coach with, played for, played with. The success of the programs you have been apart of and the connections you have. What will your staff look like

6) Tradition 

6a) Do you understand tradition of Beechwood football, are you prepared to continue that. Have you been apart of tradition rich programs in the past. Are you prepared to bring in your own system, culture, and tradition while still honoring and respecting the past.

Just some things I’d look for if I were Beechwood decision makers.

If true I would imagine Coach Eviston is at least considering Beechwood too.  Anyone? Also, I heard there is interest from the powers that be at Beechwood in Coach Eviston.

So is there a situation at Cov Cath driving that interest? I realize both probably pay more but Cov Caths drop to 4A will make a deep playoff run a bit easier. Of course Moeller is Moeller. Different football than NKY. The Beechwood job is a good one....but better than Cov Cath? Easier playoff road??

Agreed on the fact they can may find a better coach, but seems like you’re taking a shot at Wynn. Looks like he’s won at two schools who haven’t won a bunch before he got there and just went to the state semis. He is doing something right IMO.

A lot depends on a coach's situation where they are. People weren't exactly knocking the door down at Highlands when it opened a couple years ago....and the first choice stayed 2-3 days? If you have 20+ years in KTRS( teachers retirement for public schools) do you leave to go to a parochial situation? Most people don't realize if you draw a Kentucky Teachers Retirement System pension it plays heck with your Social Security. Will be interesting.

Kentucky Teachers do not get Social Security.  You are right though with it changing your retirement if you teach at a private vs public school.

Just to be clear, the teachers opted out of social security and do not pay into it, correct?

My guess is based on your pushing this is you have more of a personal tie to the coach mentioned much more than Conch is - in any way (which I don't think he is at all btw) - taking a shot. 

Put simply, the mentioned coach - regardless of his qualifications, which are most definitely there, but with lesser programs and for short periods of time - would be dwarfed by the accomplishments/status/clout of other coaches that would apply or be sought out by the Beechwood team in charge of this search. 

To keep it simpler - big difference between up and coming and accomplished/long term success. Also, Nick Saban vs. Doug Belk or Mike Houston. Who would you hire if you were Florida's AD? Do you know who Belk or Houtston are...probably not without googling. Both those guys are OUTSTANDING up and comers in the NCAA, but no one with knowledge would argue they'd have a shot at an elite program's head coaching job if bangers like Saban or other big well known successful names keep calling.

Conch wasn't taking a shot, because he knows the mentioned coach is a REALLY good coach, just not in the same ballpark as those that will be in the running.
