Thoughts?

Metcalfe has had an outstanding year for their team and community. They are well coached and play hard-nosed football and will come to the Jackson Purchase area motivated and ready to compete. 

However, this is a step up in competition that will result in a running clock I'm afraid. Mayfield is just a different kind of bear. I respect that program so gosh dang much. 

I watched the Danville game. They’re definitely big. If I recall right they had a middle linebacker who also ran the ball. Kid was HUGE, looked like a lineman honestly. I didn’t see too many throws, they definitely get theirs on the ground. It’s going to be a good ole speed vs size in this one. I think they will be too outmatched. Too much speed all over the field for them to contain.

That margin sounds about right. If Metcalfe can have some success running and control clock, it might be a 21 point margin for Mayfield. If Metcalfe cannot run the ball on the Mayfield defense, running clock.

Cardinals win this one by three scores. Metcalf may be big and strong, but it is hard to tackle what you cannot catch. 

I’m going to agree with the rest of you. Mayfield by at least 4 TDs. Mayfield is playing at another level compared to the competition that Metcalfe has played this year. 

Metcalfe has had a great year but I just don't see how they can keep this close.

I am going with the Cardinals of Mayfield.

This should be another clock runner! The Cards have had 11 speedy clocks in 12 games.  Very impressive but today a running clock is diluted from the past and what was believed to be a heck of a schedule has not panned out for this part of the state.   Still very impressive!

 

All Mayfield in this one.  Metcalfe has had a great year, but just like Green County last year, their season will end in Mayfield.  Mayfield 42-7

Metcalfe plays a way that makes it hard to blow them out I do believe Mayfield wins pretty easily but no running clock.

To beat Mayfield you will have to be able to run between the tackles and be able to pass as well. You won’t usually beat them being 1-dimensional. Metcalfe will have to sustain long drives and keep that offense on the side and cold and not get into any rhythm.
