Toronto is the only other place I can imagine Votto playing.

Is that a fit though?  They've got Vlad Jr. at first base and Teoscar Hernandez at DH.

The Reds will make a run at a playoff spot. The more I look at the things they're doing the more it makes sense. There was zero indication Wade Miley can repeat what he did. If Sonny Gray is what he w

Even with Tommy John surgery he should have been here before now, out of high school? He is 22. That is young without TJ surgery interrupting. My biggest concern is they are rushing him here too soon.

Big Bob is selling off some of his other businesses, could the Reds be next.

Might as well.  Friend of mine said that he's treating the Reds like week-old produce anyway.

Absolutely 1000% this.

I understand getting rid of Suarez, and Sonny Gray never impressed me much... but Winker?  I believe he is arbitration eligible but isn't free agent eligible for 2 more years.  That tells me that this rebuild is expected to take at least 3 years.  There will then be a 2-3 year window to win and after which it starts all over again.  Reds baseball... It's fan-tastic!

Will we even recognize the Redlegs this season?

Unfortunately I think that's a cycle that Reds fans need to get used to.  Terrible for 3-5 years and then a 1-3 year window to maybe make a little playoff noise.

The way things are going, it won't surprise me if Castillo or Mahle aren't shipped out as well, and whoever gets them is going to get Moustakas as well.  That way ol' Bob can save another $20+ mil.

SELL THE TEAM, BOB!!

It's reminding me of that scene from Major League...who are these guys?

My guess they acknowledge this.  They will suck people in with India, Votto, Stephenson, and the occasional Aquino homer.  There’s only so much to do in Cincy in the summer.

They can’t do it but I wish they would tell us how they felt about the team. It looks like they didn’t feel like they had a serious winner.  I know they were close. New direction is collect young arms like the Tigers and the Braves somewhat.

Shogo, Moose and Votto still have ugly contracts.  I think people are angry because they sold so early, instead of playing it out until mid-summer.

If you're wondering who's next on the chopping block...here's the top 7 remaining 2022 salaries:

1. Joey Votto ($25 million)

2. Mike Moustakous ($16 million)

3. Shogo Akiyama ($8 million)

4. Luis Castillo ($7.5 million)

5. Tyler Mahle ($5.5 million)

6. Ken Griffey Jr. ($3.6 million)

7. Tyler Naquin ($3.5 million)

I think Junior's the only one assured of not getting a call from Bob.  (Although, I'm sure if he could trade him...he would, again.)

Bob isn't the one making the calls to them, unfortunately. At least then he may feel a bit of remorse.

Actually, Bob (and everyone else) is talking so little that there was a quote from Votto earlier who is usually tight lipped on such things that said he "isn't sure if the moves are even done." When you can't even clue your franchise player into what direction you're headed there isn't much communication happening.

The Reds are continuing to rebuild the organization......to become the Cincinnati Pirates.

Very true.  It really makes me wonder now, if Dick Williams wasn't privy to this coming down the pike, and leaving beforehand, not wanting to be a part of it.
