Last year they drew just over 1,500,000. Is there a chance that barring some miracle on field they won't break 1,000,000 this season?

Ownership will receive well over 100 million between revenue sharing and TV deals.  They could care less about the gate.

I think an average of 15,000 per game is totally possible. To get down to your number, it'd have to drop to 12k or so.  But with the economy the way it is, and if gas prices continue to be high, then, yeah, I think it's possible. 

I feel bad for Votto, knowing that he'll never sniff the playoffs for the rest of his career here.

Does Votto with his current contract have any trade value? Could he "force" his way out?

With the NL adopting the DH, I'm sure that will eventually help. But, maybe there could be a hometown return for him, with the Blue Jays.  Sort of like Griffey coming to the Reds.  If Bob could get rid of him, he'd have done it yesterday.

My head hurts just thinking about how bad this team is going to be.

Toronto is the only other place I can imagine Votto playing.

1981 was a strike year as well.  Reds finished with the best record in baseball, but didn't make the postseason.

Would be foolish unless he’s ready to retire with zero work involved.  A professional sports team is based on valuations.  You can borrow against those valuations.  It’s like owning a million shares of Tesla.

I have never ever seen so many of what I would call "loyal fans" of the Reds on my Facebook feed swearing them off forever.  I know we all get upset sometimes (me included) and say things but this is different.  Lots of long time, loyal fans jumping off the Reds' bandwagon. 

I hear that they will be playing baseball in Florence, KY this year............y'all.

I won't swear them off forever but I have a lot of anger at what they are doing. No way I pay to walk in that ballpark for the near future. I have almost no interest in even watching games till they put a product worth watching on the field.

Absolutely 100% agree.  

I'll still go, but will be much more selective about how often.  I am an Orioles fan, so I will go when Baltimore is in town.   Machado is my favorite player, so I will go when the Padres are in town.  I will have to look closer at the schedule to determine when else I will go.
