There aren’t many teams in Nky that can beat Beechwood year in and year out even without a Qb caliber as Cam so this comment is laughable. As in Nky has taken note Beechwood has some very good players coming up in the next few years so I’m sure they will be fine.

Plenty of other reclassified players right!

Man some of y’all are Charmin soft over this score.

If NCC’s starters can’t hang with Beechwood’s 2’s and 3’s, then maybe NCC doesn’t need to be playing Beechwood.

I think that model has been adopted by NKY basketball teams, why not use it for football also.

I have a question for you. We all know that Beechwood is the 2 seed. Who would they probably play in the semis if somehow Mayfield gets upset by Murray or Caldwell? I know one of those teams would head to LCA.

Here is a link to the bracket as it stands now (still a few open slots as I post this):

For round 3, it looks like Beechwood will most likely host Walton-Verona. That is assuming Middlesboro and West Carter win their districts. The upset possibility teams there are Shelby Valley and Breathitt County. If one of those two wins the district, Beechwood will host that team. Beechwood will play the lowest seeded team of the four left in round 3.

For the semis, let's be real. Beechwood is hosting Mayfield. I know Mayfield was upset by Murray, but that is not happening again. If it does happen, Beechwood will almost surely be hosting whatever team it is that beats Mayfield (Murray or Caldwell County). The wildcard possible upset winner is Owensboro Catholic.

Here is my 2 cents.  NCC was overmatched in every phase of the game including the sidelines. Over the years when both teams played in 1-A the series had been a huge rivalry and played a role in the playoffs.  NCC is a very young team.  This is not an excuse.  Last night came down to "Men playing Boys.  NCC does not have the depth or experience of Beechwood. NCC has become very predictable on both sides of the ball.  I don't take issue with the reserves scoring no mater who the team.  I would never tell a player not to do their best.  I do take issue with Beechwood coaching staff knowing that the game was well in hand before halftime and not calling off the dogs. This scenario will play out for the next several years due to player reclassification. The sad thing about last night is I think both teams suffered injuries. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs.

As adults I would be embarrassed at the way some of you go at each other.

Well said sir. Well said. It’s a poor reflection waking up this morning to some of the comments on this thread and other places. The kids are watching how the adults are acting folks, and taking notes………..  Grow up.

Yeah ok. It’s true though. Beechwood* will be heading it for years to come.

It’s actually funny listening to grown men whine and cry about a rule the state passed! You should email Julian Tackett to complain to him since you don’t like this rule.

For the talk about Newport Catholic stopping with playing Beechwood, are you serious? Yes, Beechwood is substantially better than them and MANY other teams in the state and maybe all of NKY this year. And as far as the score goes, deal with it. From what I can remember, I’ve never seen others complain from Dayton, Ludlow, Bellevue, or others from several beat downs they have taken from Beechwood over the years. Even if beaten badly, it usually makes teams better anyway or should make you want to play better.

Yep -- Beechwood playing by the rules set forth by the state -- I could see where that would be unpopular with someone from Cov Cath.

I am sure I could come up with more -- but at this point -- I would say your work speaks for itself.

No idea what your talking about. Didn’t say Beechwood* isn’t flowing the rules, let’s just not pretend it isn’t a huge advantage this year and won’t be for the next few years with all the reclassifications.
