So exactly what is a "cicada patrol"?  Is that a paid position?

Yes, saw a house today that was having a full fledged eruption.

Ha, I wish. Just a walk in the woods. Although, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express one time. 

None around me, but we live in a newer development.

Older neighborhood on the other side of my backyard though.

They have arrived in Alexandria this morning. 

I haven’t heard or seen any in Owsley County. The map I saw didn’t have southeast Kentucky as a cicada outbreak. It was more toward northern sections of the state around the Ohio River and several counties south of there.

I saw one (literally one) in my buddy's back yard in St. Matthews last weekend. 

My daughter and I took a walk along our fence line in Burlington, KY and saw some empty shells, maybe a half dozen.  

Brood X map shows them mostly in Indiana and possibly KY counties bordering Ohio river. I’m in Audubon Park area of Louisville and yet to see any. Some have been spotted in Highlands area of Louisville, so maybe scattered areas of them in Louisville.

I am hoping that there are about 20 kabillion out there by now  as I am on vacation. I was also hoping that they would mate themselves to death and be gone by next week.

 

Wish  my vacation dollars could last longer.
