Probably, but you can also argue there are pretty big differences between the two sides. The KHSAA is running football for 200 schools in one state, with most teams fielding less than 50 players. College football isn't a singular entity, has over 1000 teams across five levels in every state but Alaska, and almost every team has close to if not over 100 players.

It might not be the best optically, but I think playing football in a small state at the high school level is a lot easier to pull off than playing college football.

I don’t know about easier.  Colleges have some advantages in being able to protect their players.  Players living on campus gives colleges more control over sanitation, and limits exposure from the outside, and also aids in being able to quarantine should there be an issue.  Another key point is resources and staffing at the college far exceeds what you’d find at all but the biggest, and wealthiest high schools. 
 

I agree with the optics part, although I’m not sure optics are a concern of the KHSAA.  Optically, it’s already bad that they are planning on playing football despite the fact that many, if not most districts feel it’s not safe enough to return to school normally.

Now the school part I get, but if allowed to, I believe most school districts were planning to return to some form of in person instruction. 
 

However, I do believe that it is easier to navigate your sports team of the 50-70 kids doing virtual than it is to navigate them coming in contact with 500-1500 kids each day at school.

Some form of in person instruction, yes.  But Definitely not a normal school day.  And there are more than a few that are starting with only virtual instruction.

I think it’s safer for kids to play under structure of HS teams than not. Kids will be playing and doing other things whether have football in fall or not. The biggest threat is to coaches but they seem to want to play despite that. If it comes down to play in spring then that’s better than nothing.

I think a lot of that could be applied to the difference between college and high school basketball too, and we already saw the KHSAA give up their sacred cow when the dominoes fell back in March. I think it will be very difficult for them to come up with a realistic explanation of why they can play when a higher level can’t.

That has happened in a few places in KY & nearby states. Season still a month away (at least). More schools will probably pause for a week or so.

My guess is there will be some consideration into what college is doing, but ultimately will not have a direct effect on what the KHSAA decided to do. Also, it's pretty easy for conferences like the MAC to postpone their season potentially to the spring when their aren't teams on their schedule and financially they can fund sports and the testing process to ensure safety. 

The KHSAA must have protocols in place or at the minimum ensure each school has protocals in place for when an infection takes place. If they can ensure each school has protocals and procedures in place then I feel they'll give the go ahead to begin. 

I hope Football gets played as much as the next person but if things don't change soon Fall Sports will be off in my opinion.

I agree 100%. If the KHSAA does decide to cancel or postpone sports it won't stop teenagers from finding an outlet for their athletic need. AAU, travel ball, 7 on 7 teams, etc will all still be going on because their doesn't seem to be any top of association they must get approval from and if there is they are allowing them to play. Playing at any point will not be easy, but that is why it's imperative schools have a plan in place for when a case appears on their campus and effectively execute that plan. And understand that a plan can be adjusted once you learn how effective that plan is.

What type of things need to change in order for fall sports to be played?
