This Friday may be most watched KHSAA meeting in history. Hopefully will get some clarity.

This is why I was upset.  People that know me realize that I do listen and read different points of view very intently.  They also know that I don't troll or use wording that is meant to irritate or rub somebody else the wrong way.  I felt that the conversation was crossing the line into being "personal".  I wanted a discussion, not a surgical analysis of each other's views (where I don't "make any logical sense").  There is too much of that already on news shows.  We have heard and seen all of that already.  

I disagree on what I see with college and pro teams of several sports.  If things are going so well, why are camps and workouts being shut down?  Does it matter what the numbers and percentages are?  Somebody in each of these cases has concerns and/or fears to take steps backward.  My entire reason to post was a question about the KHSAA regarding high school football - I wonder what they are thinking.  Not "how should", but "how will" the events happening at the college and pro levels affect their thinking for the Friday meeting?  I actually agree with all of you!  "It shouldn't", but "it could"!

Less reasons for sports teams to take steps backwards in the recovery toward normalcy.  I knew that some positive cases would be found, but I was hopeful that would be very, very small; so small, in fact, that teams would just keep moving forward like the rest of society.  But, when 1 or 2 or 3 teams back out of playing because of new cases, it has a ripple effect on the rest of the leagues.  I was just expressing a concern.

Then again, how can anyone "expect" anything since none of us have been through one of these before?  Not much of a playbook exists (pun intended) for sports.

No football at any level is the mostly likely outcome.  Since the "kick-off" is normally the HS level its hard to see the HS level in any state committing to a season, sadly.

Sadly, I think that's where we are headed.  Too many uncertainities. And there's simply no way to insure everyone stays healthy. As long as social distancing is our main weapon in defense of the virus, I just don't see a way for football or any contact sport to safely exist.

If we can't play sports there is no way in the world anyone can justify 20 or 30 students in a classroom together.

I think it’s the other way around.  If we can’t justify a normal school day with normal classroom spacing and attendance, we can’t justify playing sports.

I agree and I already covered this in this thread.  If you can play sports you can go to school and if you can go to school you can play sports but if you can't play sports you can't go to school and if you can't go to school you can't play sports.

I can only imagine what the "new normal" is going to be for influenza since it is fact children are much more likely to die from influenza than the Rona. 

A lot of news the last few days, but my view is as long as school is in session in some form there will be a form of football. Football I believe is in better shape than basketball. Outside sports and activities seem to be ok.

I agree with that too.

I still don't think we'll have football though.  At least not a full season of it.  They'll either start it and then bring it to a halt or start it later.
