Casinos, Gambling and Gaming in KY

Servants? Strong choice of words, but hear what you are saying that it creates more jobs to benefit the rest of the folks in the state.

Your first post says give it to their pensions. Not a fan of that idea.

Teachers, LEOs, social workers, transportation, etc....they don’t serve the public?

The state has pension liability that could be alleviated by proceeds from gambling or they could keep paying the liability and use the funds elsewhere. Not sure it matters.

Of course none of it matters...it’ll never pass.

More money is going to solve the problem of overspending?

Overspending...? That's for another debate. There are bills the state has to pay, and more revenue is needed.

This is a great opportunity that will again be thrown away.

This Kentucky resident has a good idea, let the benefits help all Kentuckians, not just government employees!!!!!

I agree, however the first course of actions should be to return funds that have been used elsewhere over the years. Once past obligations are brought current, then all Kentuckians should benefit.

In most states Horse Tracks are the ones best setup to take sports betting almost immediately. The infrastructure they have in place is already a sports book. The Horse Industry should be excited for this. You could pass Sports Gambling in KY without Casinos if needed.

If Kentucky allows it, I fully expect Turfway Park to have it. Might get me there more than once a year.

Anyone with a job serves the public wether it is directly or indirectly. And as I mentioned you earlier. Not for us to worry about the gambling law being lifted. It will get screwed up.

I thought that matter was recently corrected.

We agree on the part it will be messed up.

But a public servant is a government employee.

Kentucky legislature does not need to wait to pass this. IMO, they need to call a special session and address it now.

They will do that right after they allow casinos in the state.

Only the gov can call a special session and since he adamantly opposes any expanded gaming there’s no way he will.

Once again Kentucky misses the boat.
