This next decision as head coach is huge for the fate of the Bengals in Cincy imo. If they get it wrong. They really will have 30 thousand or less in stadiums the next few years and the team would have no choice but to move by the time the lease is up. They have to get a hire that at least re energizes enough of the fan base to matter.

Schefter track record is pretty awesome according to sources around 85%. I dislike Marvin as an in game coach but as a talent evaluator you can’t argue. He has brought in the talent but he just can’t get it over the hump. I was in first grade when they lost in the Super Bowl 1989. I am a product of the lost decade and a half. I am extremely appreciative of what Marvin has done but all good things must come to an end.

It's not Marvins fault thay they didn't get rid of him after 2013 or 2015. Any coach would stay and not just quit on their own with a playoff team. The Bengals waited to long to make a change however hopefully in the future people do recognize him as not being horrible here.

 

In the Bengals first 35 years the Bengals made the plays 7 times. In Lewis 15 seasons the Bengals made the playoffs 7 time. So he has had more success on a year to year basis than any coach in Bengal history. He just couldn't get them to go on any special runs once in the playoffs.

Know it’s not but at just 1 mil a year for 15 years is 15 mil....just go enjoy life Marvin!

No way Adam Schefter puts that out publicly unless he has good sources.

Marvin Lewis' big crime is not in never winning a playoff game, it is for allowing the lunatics to run the asylum throughout his tenure.

 

He has never been fully in charge, has never earned the respect of the players outside of those who would respect any person serving in the capacity as their head coach.

 

There has never been any fear of retribution, and the Bengals have been the laughing stock of those on the outside looking in.

It appears there is a rift between Mikey and Marvin on Assistant coaches salares and has been for a while. I believe he asked them to find other jobs as all their contracts expire at the end of the season.

 

 

I bet the leak probably came from one of the assistants.

From everything I've heard and read, it seems Marvin is the "source" that leaked the info to the national media guys. No chance he's coming back.
