Thanks Wireman. :thumb:

Just saw they said the shooter fired for up to 11 minutes.

Had seen 9. So the shooting was from 9 to 11 minutes. Though it took LVPD another hour to breach the room identified.

Reports say he modified the semis to make them fully automatic. Fully automatic weapons have been banned in the U.S. since I think 1986.

The conversion stuff gets way more credit than what is found in the field.

Can a semi be converted - yes. Is it useful if its not belt-fed? Probably not.

Here is a fairly detailed analysis of what the weapon used was by a former marine.

What Guns Were Used in Las Vegas Shooting? - The Red Elephants

That is why if I had to take a wild swing at what weapon was used I would guess it was a M240 Bravo or similar weapon system. They are ready to except tri-pods, which the police stated they found in his multiple weapons he had. They are out there on the black market from military parts that disappear or “break”. The ammo it shoots is the 7.62×51 NATO and it uses metal linked belts. The cyclic rate of fire is around 650-700 rounds per minute (although it can be adjusted higher it typically wont for controllability and ammo conservation). To finish up, here is the comparison.

So this is my best guess as to what was used. Ultimately, don’t believe the sensationalism that is already coming out about the need for gun control. None of the proposed firearm legislation could have prevented this. Stephen Paddock had no criminal history according to main stream outlets, and a relative, Eric Paddock (Brother), said “He was not an avid gun guy at all”. This all points out to help from larger organizations such as ISIS or other conspiracy theories (conspiracy simply means more than one person plan together. Root word conspire; P.S. they’re making the frogs gay.)

They had a 4 man element in the hallway but it sounded like they deferred to swat response. Unconfirmed though.

They waited to breach the room because he was no longer shooting.

They probably would have entered as fast as possible, had he still been shooting.

Basic SWAT stuff, once the shooting stops, it’s no longer an active shooter, it’s a barricaded subject. Two completely different responses, dynamic and slow and methodical.

Basic patrolmen go towards the stimulus until the shooting stops, then you hold for SWAT. Even the most elite SWAT teams can’t be ready to breach a room on the 32nd floor of a hotel in that amount of time from their activation. The fact they were breaching within an hour is pretty impressive. Had the shooting continued, you would’ve had patrolman exchanging gunfire in the hallway with the shooter once the shooter was pinpointed. Fortunately the coward took the coward way out instead of continuing his shooting until law enforcement engaged him. IMO, hotel security making contact forced his hand and he offed himself, thus likely saving a lot of lives.

ISIS connection may go through FBI.

Fast and Furious 2.0? That is gaining momentum as one of many theories out there.

The leaked photos from the room are highly disturbing. Not just his face blown off, but the stacks and stacks of ammo just pulled up waiting to be shot into the crowd. Guns everywhere!!

Something I was thinking last night.....Based on his position, the type of weaponry and ammo he had, and the layout of the concert venue, am I the only one that kinda thinks it's fortunate that only 59 people were killed?

I'm a little curious out of the 500+ that were declared injured, how many were from a bullet vs. trampling or someone tripping and scraping up their legs in the hysteria.
