Mass Shooting in Las Vegas

Featured Replies

Sad... really is all I can say to this. We wonder where all this evil comes from, these people are spewing it out all over twitter. It's right in front of our faces. Media has pushed both sides so hard against each other its ridiculous.

Yeah but the media is CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, MSNBC, and most newspapers. The only other news is Fox News.

I think more hate gets pushed by the liberal stations. Just look at what some in political office say about hoping Trump is assissnated or Saturday Night Live mocking,

Does anybody have any info regarding the legality of the weapons used? It seems some may have been illegal under the automatic rifle ban. Here is one article. Please post more.

How the Las Vegas Shooter Could Have Gotten an Automatic Rifle | WIRED

I read somewhere that the shooter had remote fire weapons in the hotel room. Wow if true!

Legality of the weapons are pure speculation until we know what weapons he had and what licences he had.

Heard an interesting theory today from a friend in Vegas questioning if he acted alone (two windows broken out, two "shooting stations"), or if he was even the shooter; or merely forced to rent the room, etc. and then killed by the real perpetrators to make it appear he was a lone, crazed gunman who shot himself as police closed in while they snuck off? Guessing this would be fairly easy to confirm via surveillance cameras of the hallway, etc.from the last few days; or if they can come up with a real motive? Also heard he was deep in debt to a couple of casinos ($ 1-2 million+)?

I hope you didn't believe the conspiracy theory.

I’m confident Vegas has enough cameras to figure it out. Probably the last place you want to try and get away with something.

Not as sad as those killed, but pretty close. Man I cant believe some are so awful.

A top lawyer for CBS said she is “not even sympathetic” to victims of the Las Vegas shooting because “country music fans often are Republican,” when discussing the tragic mass shooting that occurred in Las Vegas late Sunday night.

Hayley Geftman-Gold, the network's vice president and senior counsel, took to Facebook after a gunman opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, killing at least 58 people and sending more than 500 others to hospitals.

“If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs [sic] will ever do the right thing,” Geftman-Gold wrote in a now-deleted message that was first reported and captured by The Daily Caller.

Geftman-Gold continued: “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc [sic] country music fans often are Republican gun toters [sic].”

She's disgusting and pathetic...

I don't really believe any of the conspiracy theories in these situations, but merely threw it out as there seems to be no other plausible explanations? Pretty sure no one knows the reasoning yet, and if they are; they aren't saying. Time will tell.

PS: That said, what time did OJ get out of prison?

There is no explanation for this one honestly and that conspiracy theory doesn't fit the bill either. I have no idea about OJ, he's been dead to me for quite a while now. I don't follow his news.

At this point, nothing would surprise me. Multiple shooters or not. The investigation is just beginning. Tons will come out in the days, weeks, and months ahead. I’m anxious to see what they get off his computer, how many weapons he actually used and how many rounds he fired.

FWIW, which you never really know what's accurate, 700 WLW said this morning that all guns in the hotel room and his home (apparenlty 40 something all together) were obtained legally.

We will have to wait on the details, but even if obtained legally ( of which I am skeptical) how does registered ownership of multiple automatic weapons not raise red flags?

What lessons are those?

That concerts are very soft targets and need to be hardened.

What exactly could have been done by the concert to prevent this?

And what could have concert organizers done?? The shooter was over a 1/4 mile away from the venue in a hotel room. Way to large of an area to secure, and it’s not like they could sweep and inspect every hotel room.

The venue was virtually undefendable from the elevated position of the hotel room. In the process of filing a permit for this type of event, a threat analysis should have been performed and the venue nixed, as the organizers of the concert had no control over the hotel access.
