Mass Shooting in Las Vegas

Featured Replies

I was in Chicago over the weekend and after the game let out at Wrigley I saw a police officer with an AR. There were several people going off and literally cussing out the officer for having the rifle. I wanted to tell them “places like this are target rich environments for active shooters. Be thankful he has it.” But I know you will never convince others to change their views. I wonder if they understand a little more this morning?

They might for now. Same officer will be cursed at a few weeks later after a playoff game though.

It's insane how much hatred some people have for those who are willing to die for them.

Shooters brother said he isn't a gun zealot and when he moved him to Mesquite from Florida he only had a couple of hand guns and made a rifle. Said he rarely shot them and was not a violent person.

Lived in a retirement village where you had to be 55 years old or older to live there.

His father at one point was on FBI's 10 most wanted list as a bank robber.

Not as sad as those killed, but pretty close. Man I cant believe some are so awful.

A top lawyer for CBS said she is “not even sympathetic” to victims of the Las Vegas shooting because “country music fans often are Republican,” when discussing the tragic mass shooting that occurred in Las Vegas late Sunday night.

Hayley Geftman-Gold, the network's vice president and senior counsel, took to Facebook after a gunman opened fire at the Route 91 Harvest Music Festival in Las Vegas, killing at least 58 people and sending more than 500 others to hospitals.

“If they wouldn’t do anything when children were murdered I have no hope that Repugs [sic] will ever do the right thing,” Geftman-Gold wrote in a now-deleted message that was first reported and captured by The Daily Caller.

Geftman-Gold continued: “I’m actually not even sympathetic bc [sic] country music fans often are Republican gun toters [sic].”

Wonder if there was a recent medical diagnosis that was terminal.

Could be, they just said on one channel that he recently has been a "high roller" in Vegas with some transactions in the $30K range. Didn't know if he won or lost that much.

Would explain how he was able to purchase so many rifles in supposedly a short period of time.
Has anything said how he was able to get the window from his room open?

I heard a 'hammer like' item.

Rumors are still flying so not sure when we will figure all of this out. Very sad.

Scary...this was completely at random. The shooter was apparently a Las Vegas local citizen. He was shooting from a long way off too...

Distance from room to stage was estimated at 1/4 of a mile.

And the lesson for today folks: Freedom of speech does not shield you from consequences of the words spoken.

What a terrible tragedy. There are some truly evil people in this world. I hope he is burning right now.

Twitter is an awful place for terrible people to gather. I've seen some awful people expose themselves during every tragedy there.

Are thete people actually supporting the shooter? I don't get on twitter often.

Sadly yes.

WOW! Those people will be on a list now. Almost glad they're dumb enough to say that stuff.

Many were saying they hope the deceased are Trump supporters. One was a school teacher.
