Mass Shooting in Las Vegas

Featured Replies

Evil people will find a way to make evil things happen. If we didn't have guns or access to hotels overlooking a venue, it would be a box truck full of explosives.

It's hard to stay one step ahead.

Dude got greedy, he could have just shot a a few hundred rounds and left the room, got into his car that had explosives in it and driven into the crowd. Where there is a will, there is a way.

Saw a lot of that earlier. Doesn't take long for the crazy conspiracy people to throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks. :ohbrother:

I don't believe #2, but man that would be creepy if it were true.

1.) Always happens. Eyewitness reports in situations like this are often unreliable.

2.) Why would he warn his victims? Thats stupid.

3.) It isnt difficult to modify a semi auto and make it fully auto. It is illegal. The police generally do not carry fully automatoc guns so that article is wrong.

Has it been confirmed that they were automatic? I'm guessing some (1 or 2) may have been but I seriously doubt all 40 were. I could see him having some variety of semi auto rifles but not full auto.

I thought I saw that he had semi auto rifles with something that converted them to fully automatic.

Reports say he modified the semis to make them fully automatic. Fully automatic weapons have been banned in the U.S. since I think 1986.

In addition to the conspiracy theorists who write in the absence of facts, you have the media communicating information without vetting anything. I read one report that said the shooter was a multi millionaire real estate investor, and another that said he was heavily in debt.

Automatic weapons made after 86 are banned. You can still purchase one made before 86 but you have to have a federal permit. I think the permit cost is like $200-$300. However the guns are extremely expensive. You also basically consent to the feds to show up and see the gun 24/7.

Thanks for the clarification. :thumb:

The guns are like $25k and the background check takes over a year.

But yet, they are everywhere.

But yet, they are everywhere.

I know many people with many guns, I do not know one person who has a fully automatic weapon.

But yet, they are everywhere.
No they aren't.

I'm waiting to see how many of the over 500 injuries were caused by gun shot and how many were caused by other causes. Trampling, getting cut hopping the fence, running barefooted, etc.

Saw a post from a friend who was in a hotel down the strip when the first reports started leaking. They were told multiple active shooters throughout the strip and they should run now! He saw people getting knocked over. Dealers and pit bosses taking off leaving money on the table. He said he helped an elderly couple up, but figured he was out of time to run so hid behind a pole. I Saw where an authority was asked this question during an interview and did not know the answer.

:thumb:On paper the process sounds like a breeze. In reality not so much.
But yet, they are everywhere.

You must be confusing those with semi-automatic. I don't know anyone who has an automatic and I know a lot of gun owners.

Said he used a bump stock to convert them to fully auto. Had my doubts so I googled bump stocks and sure enough it looks like they work.

I dont know of anyone either. I have some semi-automatic that fire as fast as I can pull the trigger. Friends told me its prison if you change it to auto.

Also you can get on you-tube to be shown how to change it over. Maybe the internet police should block that.
