Happy Ash Wednesday!

Anyone have any good, motivational Lenten thoughts or suggestions or websites…..I’m not feeling “into” it yet - lol.

Still trying to decide what to give up this year.

I'm giving up chocolate. I always say I will, but this time it's for real.

Watch this. You will be inspired.

Apparently I am giving up electric for lent, at least the first few days anyway.

That was actually really good - thanks hoops5!

Carbonated Beverages gone for me. It'll be water, water, water and an occasional Iced Tea.

Candy. It will be tough. Sweet has a sweet tooth.

Powerful message in a lighthearted, relatable way. Love HCC Day. :lol2:

Eating in between meals.

Probably going to give alcohol up as well.

Been doing that for years. It's a real

challenge, especially when you get the late night munchies (which is every night!). Good luck

I'm trying that as well. If I don't snack I can lose weight. The snacks is what kills me.

A prayer of St. Ephraem of Syria, a fourth-century scholar and Doctor of the Church, that always seemed perfect for this season:

"O Lord and Master of my life, take from me the spirit of sloth, despondency, lust of power, and idle talk;

But grant rather the spirit of chastity, humility, patience, and love to thy servant.

Yea, O Lord and King, grant me to see my own transgressions, and not to judge my brother; for blessed art Thou unto the ages of ages."

My favorite part of Lent kicks off tonight....Parish Fish Frys!

I wish they stayed open later, can never get to any before they close.
