With a new coach in from Colorado, how will the defender program change?

Who looks to be the starting running back? I know very little about their team but I know a few players that play football for them.

There is NO reason that Bryan Station shouldn't be a power house in the LEX 4A district!!! Hopefully the new HC will get the kids out to play!!!

Heck....Now that I thought of it there is a reason why the mascot of Bryan Station is the "Defenders".....For those that don't know drive up North Broadway a few miles, or there abouts, and you'll see the plaque....This is WAY old school.....Bryan was a Defender....

TALENT RICH! Most people think that PLD gets the best kids. All who live in Fayette Co. know that if someone can get that program (BS) back on track, it could get very interesting in 4A. I think rebuilding the school and facilities should help.

I thought you posted earlier that Tates Creek gets all the talent. They only suffer from an outdated offense. Now Bryan Station has all the pieces, but again they need better coaching. Heck, maybe the answer to "leveling the playing field" ala Prop 20 has more to do with coaches than restricting players. :lol:

In Lexington, everyone knows, that the best football talent runs into Bryan Station, it is just a matter of getting a coach into place who won't bolt after 1 season, or a coach who has any clue what he's doing. Also Bryan Station's student demographic tends to run lower on the wealth scale and a lot of their better players, can't or won't play for various reasons.

A "lot of their better players" don't play, then are they really players? Or just athletic kids with potential? Shouldn't we just stick to discussing the kids that actually play the game?

Yes BS has traditionally had some great talent, & especially speed. It would be great for HS football and especially Lex HS FB to get that program back towards the great tradition teams they used to have. They may have as good a history of anyone in the state in terms of producing high caliber players.

Said TC and BS gets the most talent. TC suffers from an outdated offense. Both have alot of extremely talented kids in the hallways for not just football, but all sports. The problem with football is that TC's style of football is boring and only the RB's get the TV time so alot of kids don't come out. BS has been plagued with coaching issues since Nochta left. The kids aren't from the best areas either.

Great post WOODY! There are some on here who thinks the world of football has only been played were they're from. It's too many people who look at the now aspect before they say something about the game, not the history in which it comes from. If someone doesn't believe in the history of either the Bryan Station or Tates Creek programs, a good tour of the school buildings around the gymnasium should give them a pretty good idea.

It's one thing to post. While on the other hand, it would be good to know what you're posting about. The post is about a school that has as much of tradition in the game of football as any other school in KY. Just because they haven't enjoyed much recent success doesn't mean that with the right coach, they can't get back to the glory days were they were once a feared opponent. Some positive outcomes of games for them this year alone could start to reshape 4A football across the state. There is a really big sleeping giant on Eastin Rd. here in Lexington.
