June 4, 201511 yr Bellevue Dairy Freeze We used to call it "Footlongs" as youngsters because that's what it said on the big sign on the top of the building. Bellevue Dairy Freeze sponsored my knothole baseball team a couple of years. When we won, we would go there after the game for free footlongs and monster malts. Great memories!
June 4, 201511 yr There's still 1 Druther's in Campbellsville. I remember the ones I went to had everything and specialized in nothing. The 1 in Morehead had a buffet that was great place to go late after Thursday night parties.

June 4, 201511 yr Johnny's Toys...especially before they moved out of the two-story building into Latonia Shopping Center. I used to love getting that key in the mail. I don't know if that marketing trick paid off in the end but it sure got me and my Mom to the store.

The magic castle concept was a very nice success for Johnny's. I actually introduced the buyer to a buyer from a similar small chain from blue point, Va. Who copied their concept and it has helped their business.

My wife & I still say "Castle, Castle please" anytime the word castle is mentioned. Always took the kids there for the $2 castle gift & of course spent much more while in the store. Kids loved the castle KEY in the mail, parents dreaded it. Fruit Bowl liquor store next to Dixie High School. Heard you could buy beer their under age. Not that I ever did (wink, wink)
