June 3, 201511 yr Anyone miss Zantigos or Burger Chef or Rax? Maybe Roy Rogers? How about HQ or Zayre or Rinks or Gold Circle? Any others that you really wish where still around?

June 3, 201511 yr Burger Chef was the only thing I knew as a little kid when I lived in and then later visited Indiana. I ate Burger Chef for years and years before I ever ate McDonalds. Used to love the Burger Chef and Jeff cartoon commercials when I was little. Rax was awesome and I think there may be a few still around, but I could be wrong. Great Roast Beef (like Arby's) and also very good burgers. I also liked Hills Department stores, because "Hills is where the toys are" I feel some small amount of guilt in the demise of Hills...oh well, just doing my job :lol2: Oldsmobile...I'd love to see a updated version of the 4-4-2
June 3, 201511 yr I'm going to go ahead and show my lack of age by commenting on the fact that I haven't heard of any of these places. I'm going to probably say Pontiac. Probably the best car I've ever owned was a Pontiac.
June 3, 201511 yr I loved Roy Rogers, although there still may be one on the east side of Cincy. I liked both Rax and Burger Chef. I also liked Burger Queen's onion rings (I'd like those tonight). Never had a favorite department store, never had a favorite. Just shop where I am around one, which is usually W-mart or Target. I liked Ground Round, also.
June 3, 201511 yr I liked Allied Sporting Goods in Louisville but they just couldn't compete with the selection and prices of the national chains. The largest one has a name that I doubt will pass the word filter but I assume everyone knows which one I mean.
June 3, 201511 yr As far as brands people miss, some of my dad's old friends are big classic car guys and miss Packard and Studebaker going under. I don't know enough about either to know of they made good cars that could not stand up to the big three or they deserved to go under do to the cars they made.
June 3, 201511 yr Author Vitalis (Mens hair products) sponsored the NBA 1 on 1 competition in the 70s. They went down and Old Spice was just about in the same boat until being re-branded a couple of years ago. What about Woolworths? How about soft drinks: Tab, Fresca, Tom Collins Restaurants: Rustler Steak House, Chi-Chi's, Who remembers stopping at a Ho Jo's (Howard Johnsons) when on the road?

My dad worked 3rd shift and would pick me up everyday from school and we would eat at Burger Chef. At the end of the school year, we checked their lost and found and I probably had 6 coats in there from leaving it at the restaurant. I remember they had all the fixins at a bar and you would load your burger down with whatever you wanted.
