June 4, 201511 yr The Bluegrass Grill in Ashland. Good food and even better memories there. It was the place to be after an Ashland football game. The chicken fries, among other things were amazing.
June 4, 201511 yr I just about lived at the All About Sports in Erlanger. I road my bike up there to just look around. You walked in and there was a small glass case to the right with the Oakleys. Hats lined the right wall. The baseball, football, and basketball apparel sat right in front of the hats followed by the equipment for such. Then you had tennis and golf equipment. The back and around to the left has fishing and boating stuff. Then you hit exercise equipment before coming up to the shoes, that were on the left as you walked in past the windows. In the middle you had bathing suits and clothing, along with the registers. I can vividly remember that place. I remember getting on the scale at Ground Round when I was a kid for penny-a-pound. You paid what you weighed. Service Merchandise had the conveyor right in the middle of the store if I remember correctly. I remember HQ over where the Chevy dealer currently sits. I don't miss that place as HD and Lowes has such a bigger selection.

Want to talk market penetration? It is estimated that 80 percent of American households collected Green Stamps during their heyday. The range of products that Green Stamps could be redeemed for was broad. By the 1960s, the S&H “Ideabook” catalog contained 178 pages of items from dishtowels and ash trays to fishing poles, bicycles, furniture, appliances and a complete set of the Encyclopedia Britannica.

June 5, 201511 yr I miss Jello gelatin pops. Hated the pudding pops but I could finish a whole box of the jello pops while walking home from school.

June 5, 201511 yr Ingram's in Alexandria Never got a menu, just ordered whatever was listed as the special of the day on the sign board. Great home cooked meals.
