June 3, 201511 yr .... Service Merchandise and G.D. Ritzy's were the first two that popped to mind. After reading the thread, Swallens and Rax can be added to the mix. Whatever that joint in front of Super Bowl was, I think it was a Burger Queen, it can be added as well. GD Ritzy still going strong in Evansville.

I went to the Roy Rogers on the east side of Cincy a couple of years ago, it has since closed. Still looked like something out of the 1960s Sight n Sound across the 8th street viaduct was the place to go in the 70's.
June 3, 201511 yr All About Sports in Newport was a favorite of mine that is long gone. First thing that came to mind for me was All About Sports in Erlanger where the post office is now...it was in the same building as Van Leunen's, which I believe is a gym these days. Great little sports store. I'd take it over Dick's any day of the week.

Employees were nice and helpful. They had different books and VHS tapes (not sure if it was gone before DVDs) and some unique toys. I'm sure I still have some stuff from there.

We were way ahead of the DVD curve. I started there in 1998 shortly after moving here, and we had a small selection of DVD's then. Lots of cool stuff in that store, and I had some great perks from working there. I still miss that place.

Roney's (formerly Roy Rogers) broke ground on their new building in April. 314 Chamber Drive = Milford. I am anxiously awaiting the grand opening! Weidemann's bakery in Ft. Thomas. I cried when they closed.

They went down and Old Spice was just about in the same boat until being re-branded a couple of years ago. What about Woolworths? How about soft drinks: Tab, Fresca, Tom Collins Restaurants: Rustler Steak House, Chi-Chi's, Who remembers stopping at a Ho Jo's (Howard Johnsons) when on the road? Loved Woolworths. Stuckeys was another traveling stop.
