If CCH was a stock, I would be buying. Coach Ruthsatz has it hitting on all cylinders. The program is being ran like a College/Prep school, if your talented enough, you'll want to be a part of this program.

 

The feeder schools are well stocked, but he is drawing kids from Turfeyfoot and Ockerman, among other schools.

 

St.Henry in the 90's and early 2000's would land their feeder school kids probably 80%, now that number is under 20%. Coldiron would start Varsity for the Cru this year. You can't blame him for wanting to be a part of the Colonel program.

 

If you want to see playing time under Coach Ruthsatz, you better play defense, be unselfish, and be in shape.

 

On a side note, I might be in the minority, but I wish Brent Angel was still playing basketball. He can jump, athletic, and crash the boards.

 

The Colonels could struggle with long athletic front courts.

I totally agree with your statement. It was not meant to be a negative slight towards anyone. My son chose a smaller setting, it was 100% the right decision for him.

 

My view was from a basketball fan, I enjoyed what Coach Ruthsatz has built over the last 5 years. I have several friends whose kids play for CCH, but I am as from a Cov Cath guy as there is.

Way back when someone from CCH -- and no, I have no idea who it was -- apparently saw our son working out with his middle-school AAU buddies, suggested he'd be a good fit at their school, and asked him if he'd be interested in going there. This story was related to me by the aforementioned son and one of the folks who was running the workout. Neither of them saw anything wrong with it; we and our son considered the possibility and chose not to pursue it.

 

So no whammies intended. We good here?

This is what gets many on here up in arms. I am sure it wasnt a coach or administrator but a parent who's son is likely to attend CCH and is trying to formulate his own little dynasty.

Would a ref/score keeper at, I don't know, let's say Covington Turner's, selling good players on attending his high school have people up in arms?

I absolutely get your point, and as a (non-coaching, non-administrative) parent I'll honestly admit I've never completely sussed out what's okay, what's not okay, what's technically okay but ethically up-in-arms territory, and so forth. My main point was not this incident -- not my circus, not my monkeys -- but rather the idea that players and families need to determine what works best for them rather than simply signing on with a perennial winner. Tark and I quickly found common ground, and neither he nor I meant to denigrate anybody.

I guess we'll just have to see where Jefferson goes to High School (He does live in Newport). If I'm wrong, I'll be on here to admit defeat and eat crow. Things change and I could be wrong, but that is the info I have received from a good source.

 

Jefferson, Kremer, Mullikan are the core with another 5 or 6 that can play.

 

Again, I'll take this class vs. most outside of CCH, which will be loaded as usual.
