Is CovCath on the verge of the Greatest 9th Region Dynasty Ever?

Featured Replies

I know what the residency requirements are...and if you are moving from out of state it's much easier to get around them than if you already live in Ohio. Remember this is all speculation on my part but I doubt renting a $500 apartment is an issue for most of the Covcath parents. I haven't spoke to anyone but I feel confident that Covcath would lose a couple kids if Scott and Joe left. I could be wrong' date=' too. Wouldn't be the first time. Those players have a strong bond with those coaches, though that goes beyond basketball.[/quote']

So $500 is $6k annually. Add in another $6k for tuition.

$12k ADDITIONAL? No chance.

Add in another $14k for tuition. $6k is the CovCath rate.

No, I mean an additional $6k for tuition above what they pay at CCH. CCH per the website, is $7700. X is about $13,500.

None of this even matters if Scott stays.

I guess we will see what happens when Covcath season is done. Until then, I'm sure St X has little to no contact out of respect for Scott and the Covcath program/administration.

I stand by my comment though that if St X gets their guy, I think Covcath loses a player or two.....

I should know never to question your rationale. :)

I wasn't clear.

I think that if they offer him he will take it.

Ruthsatz IMO is chomping at the bit to compete in the GCL, the guy craves competition and building programs. He clearly has shown that he can take a program and turn it into a winner not just Regionally but Statewide. With FRederick as his right hand guy, he will get the best Cincy kids, trust me. Freddy can sell snow to eskimos and he is well connected. I wouldn't be surprised to see a following as well.

Throw all your numbers in regards to tuition, etc out the door.

I guess the only way you would transfer is if you had a legit shot at D1. Because other than that, you will get the same exposure at CCH. Question, does CCH have anyone on their roster with a legit chance at D1? I have no idea. Only watched them last night and I didn't see anything but then again, I'm not a scout.

Going to X will not get CVH any more exposure. He'll get all he wants in AAU.

Here's my 2 pennies on the matter.

If Ruthsatz would make the move to X, I do not see any current players jumping ship with him.

Just don't see it, there is more to CCH than sports. Incoming kids maybe, as they would not necessarily have any ties to CCH. I also agree with Clyde: It is a burden for the majority of CCH parents to fund CCH's tuition can't see many wanting to add the additional expense to go to X.

I think the assumption that Joe Fredrick would go with SR is a big stretch.

Consider This:

What if CCH joins the GCL?

CCH Youth football program has already dumped NKY foot & is playing in the GCL.

Would SR get the desired exposure everyone speaks of?

Would that allow CCH to draw in more Cincinnati kids?

Would that help to elevate the CCH program to Dynasty status in NKY?

Pretty sure that can't happen unless CCH wants to cut all ties with the KHSAA. By abandoning the KHSAA in one sport nullifies the whole school from the KHSAA.

Maybe not a stretch, but not a definite. I know Joe and Tony Bacigalupo are very tight as well, who I presume would be the next coach, so there is certainly a chance that Joe would stay there. Either way, we disagree on the likelihood some kids would move, but we agree that Joe following Scott would be a definite.

Sorry...we agree that Joe following Scott would NOT be a definite.

CovCath is not going to the GCL.. They may play more of them on their schedule in future, but they are not joining the GCL.

While I am sure X can pay a great sum for a HS Basketball coach, is that enough to lure Coach R. I don't know all the details, but I am pretty sure that his main source of income is not from the Paycheck he receives from CovCath. Would an additional $25,000 or $30,000 make big difference, maybe, maybe not, all depends on the amount of your other income.

For me it makes a difference, if your income is already in the $250,000 to $300,000 per year range, not as a much.

Lol at all these assumptions that Scott will or may leave, I think some of it is wishful thinking.

As kyvince mentioned, would St. X be able to offer enough? Plus, not everyone is after money or more "attention". Scott and his family are happy at CCH and where they live now as well as the ties they have in NKY. The key word is "HAPPY"! Just because you are good or great at what you do doesn't mean you have to move to what some think is greener pasture.

Most parents at CCH sacrifice a lot for their boys to attend there, so to say that families will not have a problem spending money on an apartment isn't true.

Think of this, what if a new coach would come into CCH but he has 3-5 of his starters from his old school following him, how do you think that will go over at CCH? I don't think the parents at St X will like or, or allow it either.

Again, there is A LOT of "IF's". Money and more fame isn't everything, happiness IS! Scott is not going anywhere!
