See, here's where you are completely off. CovCath has already done the hard part. They've won a State Title. The only other group that they are competing with are the 2007-2009 Holmes groups. What Holmes accomplished in their runs puts them at the top of anything any group from NKY ever did. So, if CovCath, in this crazy run of talent that they have, with the state title already in tow, are on the VERGE of something great. Your other people have accomplished nothing. They are potential. Jenner may wind up being pretty hot though.

The only other group that they are competing with are the 2007-2009 Holmes groups.

I know that CovCath won 5 titles in a row w/ a state runner-up in the 60s. NewCath and Holmes went on runs in the 70's with Holmes being cheated out of a title. The 90's saw Highlands get 3 in a row w/ a state runner-up. Early 90's saw Holmes get a couple w/ a runner up. All great runs.

 

Reason 1. why this has a chance. This will not happen on the shoulders of 1 or 2 great classes. This will be a run of multiple classes. 2. Ruthsatz, if he stays, has a chance to pass Shields as the greatest coach in NKY history. If CovCath does what I, and others, forsee them doing, and Ruthsatz is on the bench for all of it, then he will be the greatest. If he isn't, and CovCath still pulls off what I see them doing, then they will have the greatest dynasty. If they don't, then rub this in my face all you'd like.

What is the record for most consecutive 9th region titles? If CCH wins another title in the next 2 or three years with a couple more regional titles I would give them the greatest dynasty ever. Nobody in NKY has two titles. If CCH wins 2 in 5 years they are the best dynasty ever.

I am guessing you are talking state titles? If so, don't worry because I think it's almost guaranteed they don't win anymore state titles as many other stronger programs in the past have not done it.

I think its just being blown out of proportion. I am the biggest CCH supporter on this site and the closest to the basketball program by far. I know that while the coaches and administration are excited for a bright future, the ONLY thing they are thinking about now is Campbell County.

 

There may be a lot of potential in the next few years, but absolutely no one knows A) How kids develop B)If they will continue to play with all this "competition" or C) How injuries could affect the future just to name a few. There are dozens of factors concerning the future but all that matters for CovCath right now is next Wednesday at Rupp.

I think some people are underestimating how good Nick Ruthsatz was. CVH, Bo, and the gang are great players. But Nick Ruthsatz really brought the team to another level.

 

Not saying its impossible, but it would indeed be an extremely difficult feat.

I think the biggest unknown is how long Ruthsatz will remain there? I know nothing about him or his situation (or much about CCH basketball), but feel he is one of if not the best coach in the state. And someone who has Div 1 coaching potential. It seems hard to fathom that he will not receive an offer that lures him away...maybe even sometime soon???

It is possible that he could coach at another level, but I am pretty confident that he is here to stay for a while. This is his target age group. Plus he's got 7 kids (5 younger than 9th grade) so moving for a 3rd time might not be his best option, and, perhaps the most deciding factor of all, his wife likes it here.

8th grade CCH talent is deep and big. Devin, Fleek, Coldiron, Thelen, Stallman, McGinnis, Jackson, Bishop, Becker, Trojani, Shue, Burke, just to name a few.

 

Quinton Becker from IHM is going to St. Henry.

They are not even the #1 program in their region and yes that belongs to Holmes who has a state title and over twice as many regional titles as they do. Plus, there are schools in Lexington and Louisville that have stronger programs and history and they weren't able to sustain the success that some people on here believe is going to happen for CovCath. If they do it in the next few years, then I was wrong, but I believe my chances of being right far out weight being wrong. Let's see how it plays out.
