Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe there have only been four state championships EVER won by a 9th region team...Simon Kenton, Holmes twice, and Cov Cath last year. If your measuring stick is state championships alone, then I don't think you can make much of an argument for ANY team having a dynasty over the 9th region.

 

That is ultimately what I am getting at. Hard to call any 9th region team a dynasty. I'll make the arguement and say championship teams are so filtered without repeating that its hard for one single team to just flat out be a "dynasty" in basketball. I feel like CCH has waived the flagship for the 9th region well for the past two years. Nothing to be ashamed of.

9th region dynasty is purely domination of our beautiful area for 4+ years. Now, the greatest ever goes beyond winning our region, it takes into account what you do down state.

No. On the verge of the greatest NINTH REGION dynasty ever, they are on course. NOW...to get into the greatest dynasties in state history...that is tough.

No. The fact that they are state semifinalists solidifies it a little.

Exactly, some are confused as to the question of the thread. CCH is in a run that could lead to a claim of the greatest 9th dynasty but still a long way to go.

Repetition is key for you I guess... 9TH REGION DYNASTY....not state. Also doesn't hurt that they have won a state title, have made the State Final 4 in consecutive years and a riches of talent coming up.

I'll believe it when it happens. Ohio has a residency requirement. So you either have to rent an apartment or move or come up with a fake address. Plus you have to be willing to leave all of your friends just for basketball. Why do that?

 

I know what the residency requirements are...and if you are moving from out of state it's much easier to get around them than if you already live in Ohio. Remember this is all speculation on my part but I doubt renting a $500 apartment is an issue for most of the Covcath parents.

 

I haven't spoke to anyone but I feel confident that Covcath would lose a couple kids if Scott and Joe left. I could be wrong, too. Wouldn't be the first time. Those players have a strong bond with those coaches, though that goes beyond basketball.

 

So $500 is $6k annually. Add in another $6k for tuition.

 

$12k ADDITIONAL? No chance.

 

I am not saying kids would leave, but it wouldn't be a total shock me. I know of two Beechwood athletes in recent years that found a way to go play sports at St. X. Both families never sold their home in Ft. Mitchell.

They'll contend again next year for the 9th. The year AFTER that they will be loaded.

I sure would like to know who you are talking about or what sport because I don't recall any ky kids at St. X. Now there are a couple at Turpin but their father is the head football coach.
