Uconn was 101-115 from the FT line in the tournament. That's absurd. And how you win a title with a defense playing at the highest level. You weren't building a big lead and you couldn't foul them late. It was game over if you didn't have them down 7 in the final minutes...

How does the UConn program not get picked up by a big conference? (football wise).......... big exposure for the SEC..

Could it be their low APR scores in basketball? I honestly don't know.

They're kind of isolated. Football isn't big time and the fan base isn't all that big.

In our College Basketball predictions thread, started on October 15th, no one had more than one Final Four team right. No one picked Florida, Connecticut, or Wisconsin to make the FF. Most picked UK to make it.

GT was one who did not pick UK for the Final Four, but he picked McDermott for Player of the Year & Kevin Ollie for Coach of the Year. I think Gregg Marshall won that award, but Ollie's team did cut the nets.

Hard to argue UK wasn't on the wrong side of the 50/50 calls over the final 5 minutes, and the charge was brutal. Still, they had plenty of chances to play their way through it and didn't convert.

Amazing run for UK, but the better team for 40 minutes took the title. One doesn't take away from the other long term...

Haven't read the rest of this thread but this pretty mug nailed it. UK had their chances and just got finish UCONN when they got them on the ropes.
