A coach can only do so much. At some point, it comes down to the players executing their assignments.

Highlands defense was not good so they are going to hire their DC to be HC? I would look some where else.

 

That doesn't tell us anything we don't already know and makes us feel much better.

BW will do great, Dale came to Highlands in 94 and Brian came in 95 they both have the 11 titles and three runner-up as coaches. This year was a rough one on the Defense the talent didn't seem to be as balanced on both sides as it should. But look back through the past 19 years and there are many impresive defensive years.

So true, they've had some absolutely nasty defenses thru the years.

I think he was named the official DC in 02 but coached other positions before. Not for sure about the time line with Red Dog. I am sure Brian played for him.

I believe Coach Burns took over for Red Dog, and Weinrich took over after Burns retired.

Never. Been there done that with Tom Duffy. Chuck may be interested, but I do not see it happening.

Burns came to Highlands in 95 along with Weinrich. Burns and Red Dog shared the defensive duties during the 95 season. Burns took over the duties in 96 since Red Dog's health was bad which he died during the 96 season. Burns called the defense up till his retirement which I can't remember what year that was. As far as I am concerned this is Weinrich's job to lose. Bringing in a whole new staff wouldn't help this program. If they were going to bring in a new staff then it needs to be someone familiar with how this program has been ran for some time now. An alumni who is a current head coach would be a good fit.
