Will the Birds look inside or go outside?

 

I would think the candidate list would be impressive if Highlands goes outside.

Brian Weinrich (sp?) has to get it, right?

If it is anyone other than Weinrich, it will be a bigger surprise than Mueller's resignation.

I would like for them to open it up and see who comes calling. At least you know what kind of interest their is in the job from both the outside and the inside. Still think Weinrich is the next coach, but will be interested to see what assistants stick around, do they still 2-platoon and who becomes the play caller.

Is there any law that forces them to open it up, if only for the sake of the law?

Yes. 8th grade.

I think the job that has opened up is the Offensive Coordinator. Brian Weinrich will be the next head coach IMHO.

There isn't a new coach yet, but Brian is a Highlands Alum. He played on the 1989 state championship team. He is along time asst. and the heir apparent for sometime. He is respected as a coach and a teacher. My perception is he is much quieter and a less over the top personality than Dale, but the job is not bigger than him. I believe he will do well. The transition will be smooth.

 

I will be interested to see if he stays on the defensive side of the ball and what changes he will make.
