February 17, 201313 yr You seem to be missing the point. Cal could have landed 7 of the top 10 and it wasn't going to be a very good team because top to bottom the 2012 class was flawed at best. Having the "top class" in 2012 was similar to being the front man for the Heart Attack Cafe. The more I think about it there was only one guy in the 2012 class that would have made a difference at any school in the country outside of Noel and that is Marcus Smart. Cal finally missed on the top PG in the country because he felt Harrow was the best answer and brought him in a year early... :thumb:

February 17, 201313 yr Leave it to gametime to be the voice of reason...again. I agree. Someone posted about a month back what this Kentucky team would be like if Cal hadn't signed Noel, and Gametime posted "bad" or " awful" or something similar to that. He was right on the money.

February 17, 201313 yr Kentucky has been playing basketball for 110 years. With all of the great players, with Coach Rupp, Coach Hall, Coach Pitino, Coach Cal et al. Kentucky has won 8 titles. The CATS have failed to win the NCAA championship 102 of 110 seasons. Coach Cal led the CATS to the Elite 8 his first year, Final 4 his second year and won a title his third year. Nobody wins every year. It is time to be greatful for a great 3 year run. Reload and keep track of who needs a butt stomping when the cavalry arrives next fall. I get your point and agree with it. However the NCAA has only been playing since 1939, not 110 seasons. Now if you talk Helms Foundation titles, I believe UK has 2 of those so that would be 10 titles in 110. :lol: I'm still enjoying last season when I think bad about this team. I'll trade this year for the title last year. :thumb:

February 17, 201313 yr This post shows EXACTLY why the "one and done" isn't the answer for an entire program......makes me think that 2012 may have been lightening in a bottle. An Elite 8, a Final Four, and a National Championship in three years! That's a big bottle.

I love Cal's recruiting philosophy I just wish he would keep more players on his roster. The last two years we've been close to 9 or 10 players. Some of that is to keep space in case guys stay but thi is te first year a lack if post depth has really hurt UK.
