What a good competitive Horizon Conference game, between two evenly matched teams.

Playing at home in front of 7,205 fans, the home team Raiders(20-8, 12-3 Conf), looked anywhere from really good to extremely bad and that could be said for their Northern Kentucky(19-8, 12-3 Conf)visitors.

The Raiders were as bad as a team can be when trying to shoot the three(18.8%)compared to 31% for the Norse. Overall the Raiders were much better hitting 49.1% of their shots, while the Norse connected on just 41.4%. Free throws the Norse was really good(83.3%)while the Raiders hit70.6% of theirs.

Leading the winners with 15 points was Loudon Love(Geneva, IL)He also had 6 boards. Helping the cause with 10 points a piece were,Parker Ernsthausen(Bowling Green, Ohio) and Jaylon Hall(Houston, TX) Hall came off the bench to get is points and was one of only two players to see action off of the bench.

Leading the Norse was,Tyler Sharpe(Mount Washington, KY) with 16 points, in 33 minutes of action off of the bench.Lavone Holland II(Louisville,Ky) had 15 points.

So what are the final conf standings and the Norse must win the Conf tourney to gain a berth right?

Norse still have a handful of conference games left but it is gonna be tough to pass Wright State since they have the head to head.

Either way, no at large bids for the Horizon league. Will all come down to winning the conference tournament.

It's hard to beat a good team three times, hopefully both make the finals. Holding Benzinger to less than double digits apparently isn't the key to beating the Raiders. Love is going to be a force for years, NKU needs to get some big bodies on campus to counter that beast.

The crowd was very large, any chance the Horizon contemplates rotating the tournament or are they locked down to Detroit for years to come?

If nku stays the #2 seed that is fine. They would be opposite Wright State and Oakland. I know Oakland lost their point guard and have been a bit inconsistent - I would rather be opposite Kendrick Nunn.

Agree. The 2 seed has the same advantages as the 1 seed in terms of schedule so I would like to be opposite of Oakland and Wright State.
