ACfan4
I think it comes down to the schools decision on if the area around the gym is safe such as sidewalks, stairs, parking lots etc. Also the opponents decision on if travel is safe is also taken into consideration. Jim Schue
The problem with "all-or-nothing" policies such as these is that they fail to take into account the concept that just because the roads are a mess at 6am doesn't mean they still will be a 3:30pm. plantmanky
Meaning? Multiple schools in a District, multiple sports teams in district. Some teams/schools can practice, some cant. Some sports can practice some cant. Some can play a game, some cant. No real rhyme or reason.

Pi
A few years back everyone in Kenton County got cancelled besides Dixie who was playing at NKU. Legend goes they got dropped off and players had to find their own way home.

PurplePride92
Yes. Boyle County schools are allowed to play on snow days. As @Jim Schue alluded to common sense is used in the Boyle County area. If the roads are good at 3:30 then more than likely they will play the game. And the worst kept secret throughout the state is that with the exception of schools who have a zero tolerance policy for snow a large majority of schools will practice during the day on snow days. Larry Linville
In Jefferson County if school is canceled so are all extra curricular activities, including sports activities (practices and games) at JCPS schools. Private schools can make their own call.

sweet16
I’ve seen games cancelled and all snow be gone by mid morning. Most schools in far WKY wait until at least noon to make a call on games unless it is obvious they can’t play.
