NewDudeOnTheBlock
Since private schools have an obvious competitive advantage (players from multiple counties on their rosters) should they have their own playoffs? Looking at this season I would really enjoy seeing Cov Cath and Trinity play for a championship. Thoughts?
Jumper_Dad
No, there is too wide of a disparity in school sizes. Nobody is served by 1A Lou. Holy Cross playing St. X or Trinity in the playoffs. Also there aren't enough of them to have multiple classes either based on size either.

frankdracman23
Trinity has 1,155 boys. That is smaller than at least 3 public schools. Public schools have kids from multiple counties on their rosters.

Maybe I'm just looking through an Boone County lense where two 6A schools are 2 miles apart and you play for the school your district line is drawn in. thsrocks
No. I am all for Jefferson County returning to the kingpin of big schools as it was before 1975 and the state at large public schools insisting to play in a new large school division with Trinity, St. Xavier, DeSales.... There are not enough private schools in Kentucky to warrant a separate division. Just as there are not nearly enough schools to warrant 6 classes. Maybe you should move one county over where you can play for whatever school you want.

Jumper_Dad
True. Class 1-3A and 4-6 A? Not enough private schools playing football for multiple classes, even if it's just two classes.

There are numerous public schools in the mountains that have players that are from other counties, maybe other states coming and playing on these schools football team. frankdracman23
That seems like a rational decision. Why do you want to reside in a county where you are forced to go to a certain public school when there is a county next door that does not force you to go to a certain school? frankdracman23
And this season you want to see Trinity and CovCath? What about the most thrilling 6A Final ever between Trinity and public school Male?
Voice of Reason
When you are an incoming freshman in Kentucky, you can pretty much choose to go to any school you want to. Where is the private school advantage?
