  1. RC- I agree with you. I think the 6A teams up here do need to have a couple teams on their schedule that are better than them to prepare for the playoffs but they know that they cannot overdue it. Playing the NKY 6A district schedule for a month is physically demanding plus there are a lot of rivalry games in there. You cannot over due it or you will not be healthy heading into the postseason.
  2. I can see Highlands having to schedule out of the NKY area for all games in the future. Once they give Campbell two beat downs the next two years only the schools who have to play them will remain on their schedule in NKY. If they refuse to play multiple GCL schools than Sycamore, Mason, Columbus DeSales or similar teams will show up on their schedule. NKY 6A programs can still schedule quality programs to get ready for state playoffs without having to add the Birds.
  3. I am not disputing Cooper's season. They are having a great year. All I am saying is let's see if they can sustain success after this year. Hopefully they can. I hope they can make a deep run in the playoffs. Playoff football is a different animal, hopefully they learned that last year. Good luck to them
  4. I am talking about this year. Who have they beaten? All i am saying is it will be interesting to see how they fare without their two senior studs. Hellbird- You are quick to criticize Boone and Ryle for their poor play this year. Let's see if Cooper can sustain success
  5. Cooper is having a great year but they have not proved anything yet. No playoff wins in school history and they have beaten a bunch of bad 6A teams. Who have they beaten that is any good? South Oldham? Go deep in the playoffs and sustain some success on a yearly basis and i will be a believer.
  6. Not entirely true. It was agreed by both AD's that if Beechwood finished undefeated they deserved to host. If they had lost to Cov. Cath there would have been a coin flip to determine home field. As it turned out Beechwood went undefeated, they deserve it. May best team win tonight.
  7. Bold prediction. Boone and Ryle have not left this district that i know of. Conner can have the pressure. We will see what happens
  8. After the first district game? You play the best players period. The district schedule has just begun. Are you suggesting to throw in the towell? Ryle can still win this district or get a favorable seed in playoffs.
  9. Max is a great guy and coach who still has the passion for the kids at Dixie and the game of baseball. His first round matchup with Krumps means that there were about 1400 victories coaching in that game. Remarkable for two coaching legends in NKY.
  10. Which is my point exactly. Let's face facts. All 8 teams are not on equal footing heading into this thing. You need to win 3 games in 4 days. You better have a good, deep staff and only about half of the teams in the region tourney can say that. I agree with the above perhaps uninspired was not the correct choice of words but if that is their 2nd and 3rd best pitcher they are in trouble.
  11. Conner has no chance this year to win 3 in a row. After Maines they are really thin. A top pitcher quit the team and they are a sub .500 team. Very uninspired effort against Ryle. Do not mean to bash them but that is how I see it. Hope they prove me wrong.
  12. This is wrong. The KHSAA does not set district and regional pricing, the host school does.
  13. You do not win 20 games with only 1 pitcher and Ryle has done that. I believe pitching has been one of their strengths this year.
  14. What is his career record at Conner?
  15. Weak district. St. Henry better get out of that district every year. Getting to the Regional is not that big a deal from the 34th. Put St. Henry back in the 33rd and they are the 4th best team. St. Henry is counting their blessings every day that they were moved out of the 33rd in every sport.
  16. Nice win for the Rebels.
  17. Colonels 8-4 Boone's schedule has been somewhat weak up to this point.
  18. How about we wait and see how much more improved the Scott program will become. In my opinion Trame will have to lead them to the Regional Title to top the teams of the past under Roberts. He was a decent varsity basketball coach, let's see how he fares with baseball. Maybe he will be even better, only time will tell. And by the way didn't a past Scott grad under Roberts play in the majors? That my friend is the highest level.
  19. Roberts did a nice job at Scott for alot of years. They should be greatful for that. I think gloating over a few freshman and jv wins is abit premature.
  20. Was at a game at Ryle vs. Cov Cath in January and there were about 10 crazies in the stands for that one. Ryle had alot bigger cheering section. This should be about Boone County winning both regional championships. There are many reasons that students cannot attend games on a Sunday 30 minutes from home. Leave it alone and good luck to the Rebel teams down state.
  21. Ryle will be looking to get some revenge on ND for ending their season last year. I look for a hard fought victory going Ryle's way and the match up that everyone wants to see again in the finals for all the marbles. Ryle/Boone
  22. Highlands should not be taken down to the wire by Dayton. plain and simple. Doesnt matter how many replies someone has about Highlands. No excuses.
  23. It does not look like they have enough this year without a couple of legit outside threats but you know RD will have them ready come tourney time
  24. If they tied for conference mark with St. Henry then they do not win conference. The tie is broken because St. Henry wins it outright with head to head victory.
  25. I agree few picked them but they did not sneak up on anyone. They had 18 wins heading in to post season and won some close games that went their way in district and region. They will definitely be a contender this season again along with many others.
