  1. Actually Ryle had a nice section of students at the game the other night. Didn't see many from Conner. I know you are trying to be funny and not taking a cheap shot at Ryle just sharing the facts
  2. The reporter said they had the most wins in a season in school history not necessarily the best year ever. That was the creator of the thread's words
  3. Fair enough. I was thinking a Highlands or Cov Cath may better prepare them for the grind of 6A football. Perhaps in the next cycle the plan is to upgrade it abit. Good luck to them in 6A.
  4. That certainly does not look like a 6A caliber schedule. If Conner wants to step up to 6A football, they need to schedule like a 6A program. JMO
  5. Ryle is no different than any other school when it comes to turnover of coaches. The topic gets way overblown on here. The paper said the guy wants to spend more time with his family. Probably has young children. Whoever gets this job inherits a very good team
  6. Why would anyone overlook Conner this year? They are the defending 9th region champs and will have a big target on their backs. Cant use the no respect card this year. Difficult to repeat in the 9th. Anyone know who the last school was to repeat as champs?
  7. Ryle was the last NKY team to defeat Highlands and I have a feeling they will be the next team in NKY to beat them. JMO.
  8. Ryle would beat them if they played now JMO
  9. Wasn't the weather horrible that night? Could have kept the score closer than it should have been. Really do not think that is a good way to determine who will win. I will go with SK by 2 scores. Kuntz is the real deal and the SK D is underrated. They are better than some think.
  10. The West side has some solid teams too. Besides Ryle already mentioned, Boone, Dixie, Cooper and Conner are all solid. Tourney is wide open IMO
  11. Take it easy man. I heard he missed 6 games over spring break, perhaps some were rained out. So it is 8 games right? (4 missed and must sit out 4) according to the coaches policy? I do not think he should be kicked off the team. Never said that. I do believe Bieger is a bit at fault, because the policy should be go on spring break do not come out for baseball. Any program worth a grain of salt in NKY does not let kids go on spring break. You are funny comparing getting sick to going on a spring break trip. Entirely two different things. Do you care to explain a once in a lifetime trip opportunity that must be taken during baseball season? Perhaps I will change my stance on this if I had further details. I guess we see things differently but I respect your point and the kid is a great player and person. I am done with it.
  12. spin it any way you want, missing 12 games is huge for a team and individual especially for a major contributor like Collins. Hope it does not affect them to severely in the long run. I know one thing, this would not occur at the better programs in nky
  13. Good for Coach Beegs. What if he would have missed a week of football during a key district game? or basketball during Christmas break. Why is baseball season any different? In many cases spring break is a chance for the team to not only play a lot of games but to practice as well. No wonder Cooper is where they are at this stage. If you want to play, you need to be committed to the team, no matter if you are a senior star or on the freshman team. Taking off for spring break sets a bad example for the entire program IMO. I get all the time he has put in to sports in his career and he is a great kid and player but you still have to be committed to the rules of the program.
  14. I do not care if Cooper has Verlander on the mound, if they do not play better defense, they will not get out of the 33rd.
  15. Can you share a name on who was throwing 95 MPH for NKU in early 90's? Was it a local product?
  16. I feel bad for Stamm and the Cougars. It seemed like their year to finally break through and advance to Region. I guess it was not meant to be. Same with Cooper. Ryle vs. Boone again. Should be another good one.
  17. I believe the duration and method of the tryout is up to each school as long as it is fair for all particpants
  18. Ryle beat them by 18 in January and without Johnson for much of 2nd half. (game where she broke her nose)
  19. I believe Highlands needs to upgrade their schedule. Their program at its current level needs a challenge. Playing Elder is great but they need 3 or 4 of those type teams on their schedule. If winning state 4A every year is the goal then so be it but if a higher goal is to be nationally recognized then step up and play a tougher schedule. I believe they will have to in the next two years because after Campbell gets their two year beat down then noone from NKY will be willing Also, they should play Trinity in the regular season. I know the Rocks would rather play in season. JMO
  20. The team gets to use a million dollar facility for their games and practice. The basketball teams play in a gym that is now 4th best in their own county. The weight room in the gym area is very small, not suitable for football. Let's keep things in perspective and be grateful for what you have.
  21. They do play a soft schedule. Hope it does not hurt them when it counts
  22. This is easy. Bring the kid along slowly. With Ryle's schedule, he will not be ready for 6A varsity football as a freshman. Let him physically develop another couple of years and get him ready to QB his sophomore season. Move him up one level to JV and see how he does next year.
  23. No not even close to what I believe. In a perfect world I would love fewer classes and more schools in district play. I loved the old 4A NKY district with 8 teams I believe. (Conner, Boone, Ryle, SK, Holmes, Dixie, Campbell, Scott) Only 4 could go. Every week there was a lot of drama and no huge blowouts in first round of playoffs.
  24. Settle down Hellbird. No one ever said that Cooper does not belong in playoffs. They just do not deserve a higher seed this year. They lost to Conner and under the current tie break rules, fell short and had to settle for the 3 seed. Most people are upset about all of the blow outs in the first round of the playofffs especially 4 vs. 1 seeds. I believe you said on here that playoff rounds should be local before advancing past region. I agree with that. A lot of programs not only were blown out but lost money in the process due to travel. Every playoff system will be flawed but this is what we have so coaches need to schedule appropriately in case of a tie. Enjoy Cooper's run. Do not get mad at everything that is said on here. I hope Cooper goes far and more importantly can maintain success in the future. It would be good for NKY football
  25. This is the system in KY so you have to set your schedule correctly so you are not in this position. Do not schedule Holy Cross. Play Cov. Cath like Conner did. If you want a higher seed, play better competition. Cooper probably does not mind playing on road this year. Their field is the worst in NKY
