  1. I'm expecting Boone Co. to have a good season with Teegarden returning.
  2. Castleman had a stomach virus and is not injured.
  3. I wouldn't expect Best to pitch that much but he will get his turn from time to time. And Kramer was cleared to play last week.
  4. Their rotation will include a couple of underclassmen this year, so they will have some growing pains to deal with but i'm sure they'll be alright by end of the season. The big thing to mention though is that the Eagles will have to play with out 1st baseman Pete Ohmer for the first 7-8 games of the year. Ohmer broke his hand during basketball season this year.
  5. He ended up with a concussion and a chipped tooth. Other than that he is completely fine...
  6. Scott Wiggins is a former MLB pitcher like Chris Hook and even worked at ATY for awhile before repursuing the bigs before getting injured. He still does lessons on his own off the side but he is a solid coach and pitcher. He still helps coach the NCC football team and helps their baseball team from time to time. Pretty darn good lefty in his day as well. I worked with Chris Hook and he is a great guy. I'd definitely recommend him for the younger pitchers. I feel like he takes the same approach though with the older guys and this doens't always work. Often times I felt like he didn't take me as serious as I thought he should and treated me like a kid. And it wasn't like I was't going anywhere with baseball either as I was being recruited by several colleges at the time as well. Just my opinion. I know there was another pitcher there (at ATY) by the name of Todd. He was good instructor as well. He definitely had an interesting approach as I always felt like he really emphasized the legs in the pitching potion. Its definitely nice to change it up time to time to get different perspectives as pitching isn't an exact science and there are many different motions and quirks that have allowed pitchers to be successful. There was another guy there who used to work hitters named Jamie but I believe he moved onto the Florence Freedom so I'm curious to see if he is still with them or not.
  7. Thats one I went to all the time as ball player for Scott and for the Kentucky Colonels. They have went through many owners over the years and has changed dramatically since I moved to NKY when I was 8 years old. Still its a good place to go although the place does need some work. While there is a set of batting cages over there I have always questioned how things were set up there. A lot of the times I felt that the balls were not coming as fast as they were said to be but some stations were okay. My biggest issue with the place was the white balls they were using and the white background they had behind them that made seeing the ball difficult at times. They may have changed since I was last there since I'm at UK but I know for a fact things were still the same 2 years ago when I took my brother over to hit so its been a little while. Regardless if you have the time, I'd REALLY recommend just buying a bunch of small plastic golfballs and throwing them to the ballplayer to hit. Some plastic ones are better than others because if you hit it with a real bat you will dent them somtimes. Just get a feel for the balls and see how strong/dense they feel (alot of the times just how heavy they are will give you an indicator). I find this a much better help when preparing a player because you hit balls that are small and thus there is much less room for error. Thus if you hit it will, you are hitting it just right off the bat and that should translate over into the game.
  8. I'm liking the feed back so far. I've also had another question i've been meaning to ask; how do you think schools like Scott, SK and St. Henry will do this year? All three schools have new head coaches and brand new coaching staffs. What do you guys expect from them?
  9. In two weeks the 2012 baseball season will be starting. So with that being said, who are the teams to be looking out for this season?
  10. I thought Towles was supposed to be in this game?
  11. Scott is really starting to miss Kellen Smith.
  12. Nick Jackson from Scott??
  13. A lot of turnovers by both teams.
  14. If so the coach must have thin skin to react in such a way. If the kid did make inappropriate posts then someone should pull him aside and talk to him about it. These are still kids and they are still in high school so they still have much to learn in terms of vocalizing their feelings/opinions of things in the right fashion. If this previously had not been addressed then the coach is completely in the wrong and should have had a sit down with the man before doing anything like this in order to give the guy a chance...
  15. Well the 10th really is wideopen this year. Would Scott or Montgomery County be the favorite at this point? I know its still early in the season and this will change from week to week but I think its a good discussion to have at this point after numerous games by 10th region teams with each other thus far.
  16. Sounds a lot like Kentucky's fault here because I would say by the summer the kids (especially the football ones) are preparing for their colleges. I'm sure some might even have playbooks at the time and have to be studying, etc. so when they show up to school and start practicing that they aren't too far behind. It definitely makes more sense to have it sooner rather than later so Kentucky is definitely being unreasonable here.
  17. Everett mainly played JV and had very good season but did play some Varsity.
