I'd take Brenneman any day over Sadak. Larkin, loved him as a player, will not criticize any player no matter how bad his play. I like Welsh, but my favorite Reds broadcaster is Brantley, be it TV or radio.

It might have been Thrall or Welch on radio side. Anyway, he's up and if he hits and his glove work is average to a little below, that's a win.

I could have sworn listening to WLW radio, one of the talking heads analysis (cannot remember who) indicated his ability with glove was a little below average. And that may have been one factor he wasn't called up yet (along with no spot to play him at the time).

This is a mess, brought on by Hugg's own fault. I do not think he gets back to being HC at WVU. It's a bad look all the way around and a PR nightmare if they're even considering putting him back in place.

I know it's just a half season done and given the division, but if you would have told me in April/May the Reds would be sitting atop that division by all-star beak I would called the folks with the white jackets for you. I too am reluctant to upset what is going on right now on this team with a trade. However, like some have stated if it's a blockbuster super duper pitcher (and we know that's a rare hap'nin' nowadays), maybe.

We were taught red was a middle color so it would absorb a little more heat than some (and I'm sure the type of material/surface has a lot to do with it also). Be that as it may, turf fields will be hotter than natural grass but kids are resilient and my son got acclimated to playing on turf in his day. However he always said he preferred natural grass over turf.

You know, I'm not a big fan of colored fields but if this could generate some interest and pride in program and school plus gets more folks at games, it's good. Of course harkening back to my artsy fartsy days, certain colors reflect heat and others absorb heat. Red will be rather hot on those sunny days and more than likely retain that heat into the evening.

Now that I've seen the unis, sorry, I like them even less. They remind me of girls softball unis and the ball caps look like my Dad's old golf hat with the small rope feature on front of the cap. (I do somewhat like the jersey though.)
