Unless an unfortunate injury occurs, I don't think we see him until after the trade deadline.  He isn't currently on the 40 man roster so they would have to make a move there.  Their hope is probably finding a trade partner for Newman and/or one of the catchers.  

Strand seems to have taken it to another level with the recent callups being gone.

I could have sworn listening to WLW radio, one of the talking heads analysis (cannot remember who) indicated his ability with glove was a little below average. And that may have been one factor he wasn't called up yet (along with no spot to play him at the time).

In the games I have watched his glove work has never been questioned?

It might have been Thrall or Welch on radio side.  Anyway, he's up and if he hits and his glove work is average to a little below, that's a win.
