  1. Belfry's record somewhat inflates JC's overall number. if you back them out...42-46
  2. Somewhat surprised to see Franklin Simpson at the bottom. Believe they're better than that.
  3. Unless Bourbon gets a lot better...not sure they'll put Rowan on a running clock. Both teams are pretty bad honestly
  4. Harrison has some skill players. They appear to be some what deficient at QB. They have a very good pair of LB's in Kellione and Howard. I believe both are in the top 10 Statewide in tackles.
  5. Horton is simply a beast. A lot of programs are going to regret not recruiting this kid.
  6. Great story. Johnson Central's only challenge before the state semi game will be their last game of the season against Belfry. And if history repeats itself, both teams may sit multiple starters in preparation of a state run. I do think JC will make the push back to Bowling Green. I'm hearing some rumblings out of Paintsville that things aren't as "peachy" as they appear at JC. Can anyone shed any light on that potential situation? Definitely agree with analysis on District 4. Very tough.... Rockcastle may have something to say about who lands in Bowling Green before its all said and done. They've made a believer out of me this year. Nice story on Harrison Co. They've definitely been in the pits for some time. Their coach, (Furnish) seems to be turning the program back around. However, district 7 is woeful. If they were in virtually any other district....IMO, their record would be much worse. I think ultimately is will come down to Franklin Simpson and Johnson Central. I've touted FS since early August...and I'll keep riding that bus, IMO, all the way to Bowling Green. Quality athletes and quality coaching goes a long way. Coach Preston is doing an excellent job...and FS pride has returned. If FS and JC were to meet, it should be a good one.
  7. Some of you may very well be right about a potential Harrison/Bourbon vs. Rowan/Boyd matchup being a running clock situation. However....if there ever was an opportunity for a 1 to lose to a 4...its this year. Unfortunately, not a lot of good football being played in either district.
  8. Even without Conley...this will be a walk in the park for Russell.
  9. Game is at Harrison. Bourbon definitely has revenge on their minds after being upset last year at home. Should be an interesting game. Typical rival game....bad blood, close proximity, a lot of folks work together at various places, which just ramps up the rivalry. All that being said....neither one of these teams are very good. Both have some nice players....but just don't have enough. Both teams have issues at QB. Neither team will blow you away with athleticism. Should be a good game...that honestly could go either way. Not sure either team can win more than 1 playoff game. Only thing going for both is that Rowan and Boyd are both pretty bad....
  10. Question: Will a team from this district win a playoff game? Regardless of who wins Friday between Harrison/Bourbon. This district is awful.
  11. Belfry's current Freshman class....may be the best class they've ever had...just behind this Senior class. Economics will play a determining factor as too how many of those families can hang on and stay in the area.
  12. Belfry is very senior laden. However....their Junior, Soph and Freshman class all won Middle School Championships...and each class has several that heavily contribute to this current Pirate team. No doubt Belfry will take a step back next year....whether or not other teams can take a couple of steps forward, remains to be seen. IMO, Corbin will be strong next year....but it will be their year to travel....so......
  13. The winner gets to avoid Belfry I believe. That should be pretty good motivation
  14. This FS team just continues to take care of business. Teams aren't always going to be as sharp as you want.....but....the good teams...despite missing that spark.....work thru it and do what has to be done. Preston has done a great job of molding the program into what he wants. They may be at the doorstep.....can the kick the door in? That's the question.
  15. This has to be without a doubt...one of the weakest....if not The Weakest Districts in the state. There's not a lot of good football being played. Congrats to Harrison for the improvements being made. Seems like Furnish is beginning to turn the corner. That being said....positionally....they are simply woeful at certain spots
  16. Cody Howard--LB from Harrison Co is having a fantastic season...and he's only a soph. Saw him earlier in the year and he's a tackling machine.
  17. Noah Corbett--Belfry's QB and Pikeville's Wyatt Battaile both should be getting a lot more recognition in this thread.
  18. To answer the original question.....Corbin or Louisville Central.
  19. Very True. Belfry has been beat up all year....and will be without a couple of starters Friday. Three potential things keep this Belfry team from a 4-peat: 1. Injuries. 2. Turnovers 3. Penalties If you notice.....no teams are listed.
  20. Franklin-Simpson continues to march on. IMO, a running clock is in the offing.
  21. Long night in Louisa for the Dawgs. Running clock early in this one
