AC-S was without its starting QB for this one. FS defense was dominant, very hard to run against. FS was determined to run the ball and eventually had some success. AC-S did their homework on defending the wing-t and did a pretty good job. FS passing game making all the difference this year. When the running game stalls, they can air it out. I would still like to see more passing, especially early in the game. FS defense gave up 56 yds offense and forced at least 4-5 turnovers. Good district and rivalry win heading into the bye week. This win effectively clinches the district title for the Wildcats as the only teams who could possibly tie them for the best district record have already lost to FS.

FS generated a bit over 300 yds of total offense while holding ACS to under 60.

ACS QB may be out for the season after a knee injury last week. That hurts the Patriots. A lot.

It would have been difficult for ACS to win this game in any circumstance, but a week after losing Wilson? All but impossible.

Wilson is out for the year with a ACL tear. It wouldn't have mattered if he would have played or not in this game. The defense is playing good football. I don't think FS played very well tonight, but still beat a good and well coached ACS team 34-0.

The FS defensive front would have made things difficult for anyone playing QB.

Man, I hate to hear that!

This FS team just continues to take care of business. Teams aren't always going to be as sharp as you want.....but....the good teams...despite missing that spark.....work thru it and do what has to be done. Preston has done a great job of molding the program into what he wants. They may be at the doorstep.....can the kick the door in? That's the question.

I think Coach Preston has gotten the most out of all his teams at FS. The 2014 team is the only one that maybe could have made it farther in the playoffs. They lost to Madisonville in the 2nd round, mostly because of costly turnovers in the second half. There was absolutely no shame in losing to that Madisonville team, as they went on to barely lose to Owensboro in the region finals, then Owensboro went on to hold a 21 point lead over Highlands in the state finals, only to lose a close one in the end.

Every other team Preston has had at FS went as far or even farther than I thought they could, considering their talent level and the level of the competition. At times last year and this year I have wished they would throw the ball a little more, but that is a very small complaint compared to the major problems some other programs in our area have. I think overall Coach Preston is doing an excellent job and I am looking forward to the rest of the year.

Just here I would like to mention the job our former head coach, Tim Schlosser, is doing as the principal at Franklin-Simpson. When he was the coach here, he had the misfortune of sharing the district with Bowling Green for the first half of his coaching tenure, which kept him from having as much success as he could have, (Though they did beat BG twice in 1999) and then after the 6-class system began, he had to share the district with the best teams in the history of Allen County-Scottsville. Finally, in his last year, he went out with a bang with one of the best teams in FS history, finally falling to mighty Highlands in the title game. Now that he is the principal, the school's test scores have improved greatly, and the buzz around the school is generally very positive. What does that have to do with the football team now? Many people are aware that CJ Hayes of South Warren could have played at Franklin-Simpson. People who know him and his family said that his decision(which since he is a senior, was made a few years ago) to go to South Warren had a lot to do with academics instead of athletics. The improvements in the academics at FS will hopefully keep other student-athletes like him at home, thus helping all the sports teams.

The future seems bright in Franklin, both for this season and years to come.

Smooth sailing for the Wildcats until the last game of the regular season at Russellville. Will be a packed and electric atmosphere at ole Rhea Stadium.

Definitely, FS usually brings a big group of fans no matter where they play. I hope I can make it to that game.

One of the most successful in that they got to the Finals, no doubt (due to six classes). But not even in the top 10 of best Franklin teams in History. Not. Even. Close.

I think the two best FS ever fielded were the '94 team and the '95 team.

'94 lost to BG in the Regional Championship in front of 8-9,000 at FS Stadium and finished 11-2.

'95 lost three games. Portland 15-0 TN State Champ, BG 15-0 KY 3A State Champ, and Breathitt Co 15-0 KY 2A State Champ (2OT in the State Finals.

Following these two are the Joker Phillips State Championship teams of '79-'80.

Then comes in no real order the '75 State RU, '82 State RU (lost 6-0 to Highlands), and the '83 State RU.

The '99 team was 11-2 and lost to Owensboro 16-15 in the Reg Championship. Owensboro had a team loaded with future D-1 players and one that went to the NFL.

One of my favorites is the '97 team that started 2-5 then wound up playing Owensboro Catholic in the State Semi Finals. Had Jean Rollins stayed in the background they likely would have played for a State Title.

About here is where the 2011 team fits in. They are in the 9-11 spot. Any team that plays 15 games has to be considered. However, if you are one of the top ten FS teams of all time...you don't beat ACS and WE by a combined margin of four points.

Gotta put those state title teams 1-2, with 79 I think slightly over the 80 (because of the Joker injury in 80), but not by much. Then I'd go 95 team. I thought they didn't lose to Portland, only BGHS and the title game? I do know that Portland didn't win the 3A state title (their one and only) until 2000. Then 75 with Bear Stanley. Then 82 and 83. (All state runner ups)

I played on that 97 team and one bad night at Rash Stadium, not to mention 140 lb running back we couldn't tackle, and I think we get back and hopefully win another. We started that year full Jean Rollins wishbone and by the end of the year was putting in place a passing game that came to be more of our style in the later 90's years.

99 team lost one game to one team in the state of KY by one point. The other lost to a 3A state runner up Portland Team that had both 3A Mr. Footballs on it. And they lost in the TN state final on a bogus pass interference call. During the regular season we beat Owensboro 26-25 during the regular season and also beat the mighty purples twice that year.

I love the 2011 team. I only watched them a few times, but just seemed to get hot and ride it all the way to the finals.

Had Bear Stanley not gotten hurt, the 75 team would probably have been undefeated state champs and tops on the list. Excited to see where this 2016 squad winds up on the list. If they don't get upset early in the playoffs they may rank very high.

Is 75 the only FS team with an undefeated regular season?
