After two tough out-of-state opponents, Belfry will begin district play with Lawrence County. The Bulldogs seems to always play the Pirates tough, but Lawrence lost quite a bit of talent from last year's team. Can Lawrence stay close or does Belfry run away with this one?

I like when Lawrence County is strong, I think it really makes EKY football stronger.

This year Lawrence County is in a definite rebuilding year after losing a team loaded with talented Seniors last season. I just can't see them having the big guns to trade blows with Belfry.

Belfry 42-7 on a running clock.

I'd love nothing more than to see my friends in Louisa pick up a W...but just don't see it happening.

I love Lawrence's program, and I'm excited to see where Coach Short can take them.

On paper Belfry is a big favorite, but October brings some strange turn of events sometimes. Belfry has just come off the two toughest games of the season, and 6 straight weeks where they have had to show up ready to play. I'm afraid the kids, being kids, may come into this one a little bit unprepared mentally. No matter how good a job the staff does, sometimes you just can't predict how kids will react.

Factor in that Lawrence always gives Belfry their best shot, and the game is in the Dawg Pound, and ..... who knows?

Could this be a letdown week for the Pirates?

The game experience at Luke Varney Stadium is definitely underrated.

This game will more closely resemble last year's playoff game as opposed to the regular season tilt. The Dawgs walk the plank early in this one.
