  1. Merle is not crazy enough to go to Menifee. That might be the worst coaching situation in the state.
  2. Coach Johnson got the most from his players all the time. His memorial game with Elliott County has always been a class event and meaningful for the Elliott County players and fans as well as the Rams.
  3. Hmmmmm!! I thought Elliott won the region and a game at Rupp:rolleyes: Dodd coach of the year? At least more than 27 points were put up at the State, even in the loss!
  4. No dog in this fight. I just don't see that many players better than Britt Faulkner. Stats only tell a part of the story. Without her ball handling Rose Hill doesn't even get out of the District, much less win the Region.
  5. That would be one long PM!!!
  6. I will not put pressure on a kid or kids by naming names, but by the end of the season T. Knipp was getting more meaningful minutes than two starters.
  7. Now that would be big. I would love to see the General back. I disliked this type of offense, but you can't argue with it's effectiveness.
  8. I would about bet the ranch that Timmy Knipp starts next year and the next year, and the next..........:ylsuper:
  9. Congrats to both teams. Warren Central was the better team in that game and moved on. Elliott County let me watch my team play two games at Rupp which is something I never thought I would see. I hope the kids savored the moment. They will have a big target on their backs the next couple of years and may not get to make the trip back. The Warren Central team has enjoyed 6 straight trips to Rupp and played with a talented, senior-dominated lineup. The superior team won out in this game. But, I love to watch the little schools play with such enthusiasm and heart. They didn't quit even when down 29 with less than 5 minutes left. That is the legacy of this Elliott County team...hard work and heart. I will look forward to watching them play the next couple of years.
  10. You ought to watch his relative that just left Greenup County. The worst acting adult, or child for that matter, that I have ever witnessed in public.
  11. As always I will be pulling for Elliott, but Warren Central has size and speed. This is a very tough match up for the Lions with or without Knipp. Elliott will have to play a near flawless floor game, keep the penetration to a minimum and hope Warren central is not hitting the jumpers. Rebounding will be a big key. If Elliott sticks to the fundementals of defense and blocking out and shoots well it could be a big upset.
  12. Excellent observation. SV was out of position and having to push and grab. Elliott shot more free throws because SV did nothing defensively in the second half except catch up and foul. The best team won the game. The rest is sour grapes!
  13. I hadn't really thought about Daniel's in terms of his supporting cast and coach. While I still think VanHoose is the more complete player, I cannot argue with you all that Daniels is deserving.
  14. Coach Hicks has class. He could have won by 30. This works to his advantage as key players didn't have to play as many minutes. Congrats! They will be tough to beat.
  15. I guess we could save a whole lot of time this way. Just send the favorites and skip the time and expense of playing games:rolleyes:
  16. VanHoose was the best player in the region. Daniels is a good player and evidently a great student, but outside his coach, I don't know a coach in the region who wouldn't rather have VanHoose on his team if given a choice. These awards always puzzle my poor little mind!
  17. Rocky Adkins was doing the hula-hoop at a pep rally yesterday. Not a pretty sight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. There are some who would say a dunk, technical, and showing up a beaten and inferior team team in the closing seconds of a blow out is not such a fine way to end the adventure. A very classless act by a great basketball talent. However, I place most of the blame on the obviously challenged coach who still had him in the game.
  19. FIRST ROUND WINNERS 1.Adair Co. 1. Scott Co. 1. South Laurel 1. Holmes 1. Ballard 1. George Rogers Clark 1. Elliott Co. 1. Warren Central SEMIFINALS 2. Scott Co. 2. Holmes 2. Ballard 2. Warren Central FINALS 3. Scott Co. 3. Warren Central SWEET 16 CHAMPION 4.Scott Co. TB-129 points
  20. In whose eyes would most of his recent activities not been seen as bad conduct?
  21. I have met OJ and coached against his teams and you will find my earlier posts always have taken up for him. While in Kentucky I never found him to be anything but a class act and no doubt the most talented player we will see in high school around here. However, his latest actions should cause concern about certain character traits he seems to be developing. He will no doubt be a star. I just hope he is a star we read about only in the context of his basketball talents.
  22. Get real!! He dunked during the game, got the ball and threw it into the crowd!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That gets you technicals. That is not a ref picking on a player. If his HS career wasn't over it would earn him yet another suspension. The kid has great talent. I wish he would get over some of the antics he pulls and showcase the talent.
  23. Yeah, Warren central is the favorite out of the bracket and yeah, the favorites don't usually coast and certainly don't always win. Check with Mason County and a couple of other "shoe-ins" that will be watching the games. I wouldn't count the chickens before they hatch city boys.
