Schools who complain about not having workers for these things probably don't want to pay these positions. Yes it is great for people to volunteer...but if you want it done right pay the folks for operating clocks. Most schools if they send out an email saying they will pay $50 for someone to operate the clock, will have plenty of takers!

It will be interesting to see how Steven does...this looks to be totally premeditated at least by Pearl to ensure his son got the job (quitting the day before practice starts).

Some small schools and privates have gotten really good at navigating the student limit thresh hold. I would love to see CAL's total enrollment from ALL of their campuses and see where that would put them in regards to classes.

With Money involved I guarantee they find a way to make it work. However, it makes it tougher which might help with the debacle of a system we currently have. IMO this would make coaches more prone to developing their roster instead of bringing in 40 new guys every year.

TP had the chance to stay and compete for minutes against a quality roster. He has chosen to leave and take his talents elsewhere. I also believe that had TP been a top player in production in practice next year...he would have played. Folks new based on the level of recruit that Cal brought in, who was going to get the minutes regardless of production. Rowe was told she was no longer on the team and retired from basketball. These are completely different circumstances.

Maybe the Coach and Principal are trying marriage counseling first? In all honesty if I am the Super of the district, I call them both in and see if there is any room for remediation and common ground.

IMO is Heupel had let this play out...Kid would have hit the portal with a deal in hand. With Heupel pulling the plug and bringing Nico's issues to light...it probably caused some to back away. Just my opinion. I do think Coaches got a little more leverage because of all this. You better have that 4 mill locked up next time from someone else before you begin playing the game!

That issue is because the North Carolina classes didn't exist and Connor Stalions didn't get the sign.

The short answer is yes...they have to maintain a minimum number of hours in class with certain GPA expectations.

Main streaming deaf students into regular population has also added to fewer numbers at KSD. A lot of folks don't realize that ASL (American Sign Language) is a language in itself...not the same as english. A lot of deaf kids who mainstream aren't taught ASL, thus they really have no language. That is what makes KSD so unique. A lot of parents struggle to send their kids to a campus 5 days a week however.

That's cool. This takes a lot of courage to make this type of move. Being a "CODA" must have had a huge impact on him. It's too bad that KSD no longer fields a football team.

Does Maryland have an AD yet? It's crazy that Willard talks about lack of help...then Williams jumps on this job.

I don't agree with this mindset in 2025. RPI has changes the philosophy of scheduling. Yes you want to challenge your team...but a loss is a loss in the RPI system. They key now is scheduling games that challenge you, but that you have a chance of winning. Breathitt year in and year out isn't going to beat JC. Belfry is now in 2A and there is a chance they will play in playoffs...Somerset was moved out of their district.

So to my point...make the players sign 1 or 2 year contracts...they have to maintain a 2.0 GPA and complete 12 or more credit hours to receive their mid year payment and end of year payment. 2 year contracts are worth more money. If the player leaves early, they forfeit the 2nd payment. Put a salary cap in place and the longer a player is at a school, the more money they can make. Open free agency for every sport after the last NCAA championship is played for a calendar year. It really wouldn't be that hard.

That's too common sense for the NCAA. I would go as far to say no portal opens until last NCAA championship is played (First of June...Leave it open for a month. It makes student athletes stick something out at least a year!

Is Basketball RPI really used for anything? I know districts and regions mainly draw or seed based on head to head games. RPI used for a tie break only in most cases?

This...don't feel sorry for the college coaches about the portal...they are using it to get rid of their dead weight as well. SO while 16 teams hate to see the portal open...another 300 teams are ready to get their players.

Butler with a huge steal and dish to Garrsion when the CATS had gone cold. All he does is make winning plays. Hit a couple big 3's in the first half when Illinois had gotten some momentum. Brea hadn't shot the ball well for the first 50 minutes of the tourny...but the last 30 minutes of the game last night he put on an offensive clinic! If we can get #22 to make his lay ups, we will be a tuff out! Hopefully 1 more week with allow Butler's shoulder to get a little stronger as well!

SEC 7-1 in the round of 32 correct? That's pretty strong!
