Some questions before selection Sunday tomorrow:

1) Who will be the 4 #1 seeds?

2) How many teams will the SEC put into the tournament?

3) What seeds will the both the Cats and Cards get?

1) I think the 4 seeds will be: Duke, Auburn, Houston and Florida if they win tomorrow if not possibly St. Johns but I think Florida is still #1 seed win or lose.

2) I think just 13. Texas has good quad 1 wins but their non-conference schedule was over 200 and 15 losses. I would not be surprised if it was only 12. I think the talk of 14 is probably as there have been so far 3 teams that have been bid stealers today alone.

3) I think the Cats will be a #3 seed and the Cards will be a #6 seed I think they really could be a #5 seed.

I believe that the four chosen #1 seeds will be Duke, Florida, Auburn, and Houston. I wouldn’t be surprised to see St.John’s potentially get one too, guess we will see. I personally believe that Florida and St. John’s are the two best teams of everyone as of now. A Duke team with Flagg very well is there.

I think that Louisville ends up with a 4/5 seed. Kentucky is a harder one to pick for me.

The SEC will bring at least 12 teams to the tournament, maybe 13. Either way, the SEC will break the Big East record of 11 from 2011.

I hear a lot of people saying that Duke will “back into “ a 1 seed.  Meanwhile, Auburn has lost 3 of their last 4.

I think Auburn's lack of dynamic shooting will ultimately doom them if a team can get them in a high scoring shootout. I've thought all year that they were the best team in the country, but they could easily go out anytime from round 2 on.

#1s will be Auburn, Houston, Florida and Duke regardless of what happens today. I guess there is a world Tennessee "could" move up with a victory over Florida, but I think Florida beats UT easily.

I think the SEC gets 12 in with and outside shot at 13 getting in.

I just feel UK will slip to #4 and I think Louisville will be either a #4/5.

Does North Carolina get in? Do they deserve to get in?

Record 22-13

Net 36

Kenpom 33

Quad 1 record 1-12

Their quad 1 games could affect them, but I think they likely still get selected.

I really like going to Bracket Matrix (http://www.bracketmatrix.com) which consolidates the wide range of bracketologists. These are people who know more than me, and I think it’s likely they’re going to be more accurate.

Very, very few have Kentucky projected at anything less than a 3. 11 of 103 have them as a 3, all others have a 3. I feel like they’ll be a 3. The high amount of Quad 1 wins and that they had more than 2/3 of their schedule against Quad 1 will put them there IMO. Their NET and KenPom are more a 4, but I think the wins put them at a 3.

There’s a lot more variance with Louisville. Right now, the average has them as the highest 6. Some projections have them as low as 7. Through no fault of their own, they had very few Quad 1 games this year. They went 4-6 against Quad 1, and their ACC tourney win over Clemson was their first opportunity (and therefore win) to get one since January 21. So their record is sparkling, but they don’t have the volume of wins I think the committee often looks for. Both the NET and KenPom have them 23 - right in line for a 6 seed. I could see them slipping up to a 5 seed given right circumstances - and a huge amount of their losses being very early could be something in their favor, that they’re playing best ball in back half. But it feels like they’re a 6.

I think North Carolina gets in. They shouldn’t, but I think they will. Bracket Matrix’s consolidated rank has them as the 3rd out. But that name brand carries a loooooot of weight.

With Auburn’s more recent losses, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them draw a #2 seed. It still doesn’t change that they could potentially win it all though. Even if Tennessee was to beat Florida today, which I don’t think will happen still remains a #2 win or lose in my opinion.

What do you think the likelihood is that St. John's will be the 2 and Kentucky the 3 in the same region? And then the NCAA will say "we don't project matchups"....

I seriously think a good case can be made for Florida to be the overall #1 seed in the tournament. Against the other top 3 teams in the SEC which everyone calls the best conference this year and maybe ever. Against Auburn, Tennessee, and Alabama the Gators were 6-0. Non-conference they defeated North Carolina, Virginia, Wake Forest, Arizona State. If they are not those non-conference would I guess be the argument non of those may make the tournament.
