Supposedly starting QB Nico Lamaleava no showed team meetings and practice on Friday and Josh Heupel said the Vols are moving on from Nico.

Apparently its over NIL issues and supposedly he's entering or expected to enter the transfer portal. 

Tennessee just announced they are moving on without him.

Was only a matter of time!

Tennessee responded exactly how they should have. This is the only way handle these matters.

At this point in time I agree with you.  However, as more and more players start playing games with teams, I wonder if some teams will start caving and how that will turn out.  Things move fast in college football...

It's kinda funny seeing how the fan base has shifted from Nico is our savior to he's a bum almost overnight. 9 months ago they were convinced he was winning the Heisman and leading them to a Natty.

That said, I feel this is something every school will face at some point. What happens when the fans come down 100% on the players side? It's going to put some coach on the hot seat for sure. Fans had the coaches back, this time, but some coach will ultimately lose their job for not paying a kid to stay.

He wasn't showing up for autograph signings as well.

I saw the word contract mentioned in a few stories.  If contracts were signed then someone may be owing someone a truck load of money.

I'm sure some school will give him what he wants and then sit and scratch there heads and wonder why todays athletes act so entitled.

Schools have an opportunity here to kind of grab a little bit of the power back from the players.  Tell Nico to buzz off and try his luck in Canada or the UFL.
