Texas A&M is now open as Buzz takes over for the departed Kevin Willard.  I like this hire for Maryland.

Have to wonder if Chris Beard stays at Mississippi or if he may make his way to Texas A&M to get back into the state of Texas. 

I think Buzz Williams is a really good coach.  That being said, I will not miss watching his style of basketball.  Or him asking for a review of every call in the last 2 minutes, causing 2 hour and 45 minute games.

What about his "free throw rebound assistant" who didn't seem to do much of anything yet got more air-time in the Kentucky game than seemingly any assistant coach in the history of basketball?!

Does Maryland have an AD yet?  It's crazy that Willard talks about lack of help...then Williams jumps on this job.

I would consider Texas A&M to be very much a football schools. So perhaps it's about perspective.

Just an interim. 

Checks out that Buzz left.  He usually only stays at a place for about 6-7 years before looking at a new opportunity.  I think this is a good hire for Maryland and is an upgrade over Willard in the long run.  Wouldn't be surprised if Buzz wanted to get back to the East Coast too.

Will be interesting to see if this will be a change for him.  He went from Virginia Tech to Texas A&M, both better known for their football programs.

I know Willard left because MD football seems to be taking a multitude of the resources, but Maryland is a basketball school.  They should embrace that and not try and out OSU and Michigan those schools.  All it will do is dry up resources for the remainder of the athletic programs.  And they will all stink, including football.   Maybe the admins will get this before it's too late.   If they do, I can see him there at a basketball school for longer than his usual cup of coffee and a slice of pie.

Definite upgrade for Maryland, but I don't understand the move for Buzz unless he's just trying to escape the SEC.

I could be wrong, but I'm seeing Buzz as a bit of a nomad. He will go where the action is and he'll also go towards something that intrigues him but others may question. There may be underlying issues we aren't aware of  but at this point, I'm thinking he does what he wants when he wants and he wanted something different and Maryland can be a solid gig.

He can definitely make some noise at Maryland and I'm not really sure how much pressure there is.

Right now it is definitely easier to win at Maryland than the SEC. 

Buzz will be just fine at Maryland or anywhere else he decides to go.
