Id say we have the hardest schedule in 1a by far. When you play 5 non-disrtict teams, and the weakest one is P-burg, thats a tough schedule!

My big question is leadership. If we can find the team leadership that IMO we lacked when Mayo and Shurtleff went down last year then the possibilities are endless as to what this team can do. First we gotta get by Holy Cross in the PCB and then the rest of our brutal non disrtict schedule.

Its driving through downtown Pikeville and seeing a big "GO Panthers" sign plastered on every store front. Its the bonfire the night before the Belfry game. Its knowing that no matter how much you bled or how much your knees and ankles hurt now as a direct result of it. It was worth every bit of it. Its knowing that no matter how brief the time was, there was a time in your life when you were part of something great. You didnt do it for the money and now, years later, the memories are priceless.

Those guys are all good as well, I knew Id forget some.

Football is a game that is played in inclimate weather, in mud,in snow, in blinding rain, blazing heat or freezing cold. The Super Bowl is played on natural surface sometimes what makes you think were any better? What are we nowadays? A bunch of pansies who are afraid to get dirty? I hope not.

My ? is how are they going to schedule 6 games next year?

So? Is it a law that you have to play on turf for the state title?

Congrats to Hazard, they came out fired up. To the Panthers Seniors good luck in the future and remember that tradition never graduates. To the underclassmen get back in the weight room and whenever youre tired and dont feel like you can do another rep, just remember this feeling, cause believe me this hurts worse.

Virgie Eagles-Blue and White Dorton Wildcats-Red and White-These two combined to make Shelby Valley Feds Creek Vikings-Blue and Gold Elkhorn City Cougars-1963 1a state champs Blue and Gold Millard Mustangs-Brown and Gold. All these combined to form East Ridge. Johns Creek Bearcats-Blue and White Mullins Tigers-Orange and Black These two combined to make Pike County Central. I cant believe nobody from E-KY has mentioned King Kelley Coleman and the Wayland Wasps.

No Im talking about the Pikeville teams that played Belfry and Hazard.

Pikeville is a team with enough talent in the back field and strength up front to go a long way in the playoffs (maybe even all the way).

Paintsville will come out and play tough early cause this is a rivalry game and Paintsville has something to play for in forcing a three way tie in the district. But IMO Pikeville has too much talent,speed,and strength for the tigers to match up with them. Pikeville-42 Paintsville-12

Actually South Floyd uses the 49ers"SF" logo on theyre helmets but theyre name is the raiders.

Total domination by the boys in maroon. I believe they had revenge on theyre minds after last year.

The Pikeville teams of 87,88,89. These teams were the stuff of legend. The 87 team was ranked #1 in the state in all classes. I was in grade school then but those teams remain the most dominate Ive ever seen.

Wrong Mayo.

Im going to rant about the officiating crew for this game. This might have been the most imcompetent crew Ive ever seen( and watching HS sports in EKY as long as I have Ive seen some doozies). First off the refs let the game start without a "chain gang" in place and had to stop the game till one was rounded up. Then the line judge (I believe?) throws a flag for holding on Pikeville then blows the whistle before the play is over negating the penalty. Granted that helped Pikeville but it was a bonehead move that makes everyone look bad. Then in the 4th quarter the refs had no idea and had to conference about whether it was 3rd or 4th down when Pikeville was driving. Luckily the game didnt hinge on the outcome of some dumb call that one of these guys made. That would have been a shame for both teams.
