I was thinking they were the Dragons and wore green. I have no idea where that came from, but I thought I had an old program (OLD PROGRAM) around the house with that information. I can't find it, though.

No, no. I'm familiar with the Henderson City Flash. I believe Henderson Douglass was the African-American school in the city. Hence the Douglass (Frederick Douglass). They lost to Lynch East Main in the Class A state championship game in 1959. That's why I was curious about their name.

Henderson Douglass was the "Bison."

 

I wish I could take credit for knowing that, but I found it in some information I got from former Madisonville radio guy Bob Mays.

Louisa = Bulldogs..... Red/Black

Mckell = Bulldogs..... Blue/Yellow(gold)

Wurtland = Warriors....Black/White (red trim)

Mckell & Wurtland joined Greenup High School to form what is now Greenup County High School.

Greenup high school= Tigers..... Green/White..... as far as I can remember did not have a football program.

It is not one of the schools you had listed but I thought you may be interested.

Catlettsburg High School= Wildcats........ Orange/Black
