I have heard that Boyd Co. and Covington Holy Cross are the two new ones on the schedule. I don't know why these two were picked but this is just what i have heard. I'd love to see LCC come down for a PCB appearance though.

Pikeville can build on this. Past teams wouldve given up at 23-8 but we battled back and came up just short. Keep your head up boys we WILL get better.

He has started every scrimmage and seen the majority of the reps at TE. Why wouldn't he see time there?

I know Ashland has a lot back from last years team, but who is starting at what positions? Has anyone changed position or lost a position?

The Corbin/Pikeville game is at Pikeville High School. The Belfry/Holy Cross game is at SV.

Who is the new line coach at MC? He was at the lineman camp with them and was new to the staff.

I saw this same roster last week and Carter's name was on it. When I checked it yesterday his name was absent.

That was back in the early 90's when Elkhorn City went to Rupp and were led by "Hef" Conley. Mullins, Johns Creek, Phelps, Belfry, Pikeville, Virgie, Dorton, Elkhorn City, Millard, and Feds Creek I believe were the high schools in Pike Co. around 20 years ago. We are now down to 6 schools in Pike Co. Those being Pike Central, Phelps, Belfry, Pikeville, Shelby Valley, and East Ridge.

IMO Pikeville is way too low but thats ok. Were just gonna have to make some believers out of people this year.

Where and when are the Redhounds scrimmages this year?

Pikeville also got some good teams for their scrimmages. They got Johnson Central, Bell Co., and Raceland on 8/15/08 at Johnson Central then the following week they are at home against Lawrence Co.

Who are Corbin's scrimmages against this year and where are they to be played?

God I hope that every team we (Pikeville) play this year thinks like you do.

Pikeville returns RB Daniel Harmon, G/DT Trey Branham, S/RB Josh Mullins, WR Tyler Baker, DB James Cleary. While we lost alot from our senior class. We got kids like QB Blake Branham, LB/FB JR Robinson, LB Ross Mccoy, WR/DB Taylor Ratliff, G/DE Ben Staggs, DT Jarred Anderson, and WR/DB Jay Martin who gained alot of valuble game experience having to start games due to injuries last year. IMO we have a strong senior class that will provide something that this team hasnt had since '06 and thats solid leadership.

Not to mention the fact that this is his 3rd year at PLD and if you look at his coaching record that about as long as he stays anywhere. Im sure he would be a good fit somewhere else. I personaly just dont see it being here at Pikeville. We need a coach who is in it for the long haul. IMO Copely fits that bill better than Hensley does.

I agree. IMO I place the blame on WYMT. This was an extreme case of bad journalism on their part and the second time in 2 months that Pikeville has been the victim. Back in January they reported that Daniel Harmon had transfered to Lecther Central which was false. Someone better get on the ball over at the station and start tearing some hide or WYMT is going to lose some buisness over this. Its usually a good idea to contact the principal or superintendent to get the official word on a story before you air it instead of taking the word of a "reliable source". IMO this was a "perfect storm" of rumors and circumstances coming together. All week the rumor around town was that Pikeville was holding a press conference to announce the new coach on friday which I knew wasnt true. Then some DOPE sees Hensley at the school doing his second interview and "ASSUMES" that he is being hired and calls WYMT. WYMT doesnt bother to check the story and runs with it in an effort to try to "SCOOP" everyone. Im not downing Hensley I dont know the man. But, the track record speaks for itself this guy hasnt stayed at any school for more than three years. We just had a "Three and Out" coach here and we dont need another. Im not slighting Hensley Im just saying he isnt what the program needs right now.

This Just in..... The selection commitee has chosen 2 for second interviews. Copely and Hensley are the final 2. From what Ive been told Hensley will interview today and Copely will interview Monday. Should know something next week but then again this is the 3rd week in a row Ive been told that LOL!

1987 Pikeville Panthers The most dominant 1a team this state has ever seen.

Word is they chose 5 to interview and 2 dropped out. Copely, Jerry Perry from Danville, and Hensley from Dunbar were all interviewed. While an assitant from Clay County and the HC at South Laurel both withdrew their names before the process started.

Theve interviewed 4 this week. All I know for fact is that Copely is one of them. From what Ive heard there possibly could be a hire by Monday.

City kids dont have to pay tuition if they go to the county schools because their parents already pay county school taxes. Kids who live out of the city have to pay tuition because their parents dont pay city school taxes. Im speaking from experience. I lived out in the county but went to school at Pikeville and my parents had to pay tuition. There are acutally some spots in the city limits where if kids want to go to school at Pikeville the parents have to pay tuition so if what you say is true Im going to the Pikeville BOE and demanding a refund! LOL!
