If you're over 2.5 hours, and that includes film, weights, and conditioning, you're practicing inefficiently IMO.

I would take Mayfield's skill players and their offensive concept against all of those teams except DeSales. While all of those teams might be able to lean on Mayfield, I'll still take them to outscore all those teams, out athlete all those teams, and out "believe they can win" all those teams. Am I right? Who knows (according to my wife, NO), but Mayfield has put more hardware in the case than all those teams combined and I really believe that despite their small school status, they would fare well to winning against those teams. JMO.

I find it interesting that people put Mayfield so low. I would go: 1. BG 2A. Highlands 2B. Scott Co. 4. Collins 5. Mayfield 6. Wayne 7. Belfry 8. Desales 9. Meade 10. Pulaski 11. NCC 12. Williamsburg (and probably just fine with this and darn happy just to be on this list!)

I wonder who Blackman will blame for this loss?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that there is NO WAY St. X gets rid of the current HC without having a "big time" replacement lined up. An up-and-comer young Head Coach with a few Regional Titles game trips under his belt ain't gonna get it done for the green masses. Knee-jerk firing Wofford and hiring anything short of a Chuck Smith'ish resume and they risk becoming the laughing stock of the old guard.

It should also be noted that Blackman is still averaging about 3 personal fouls per game through the playoffs...despite the fact that they were "cheated by those dirty, stinkin' KY refs".... They had two on a single play last night.

Actual Season Grade: D- He lost with a team that most top flight HS coaches (and that's what X ought to have) would have gone at worst 8-2 with what they had this year. Preseason Management of expectations and staff assembly: Can you go lower than an F? Total disaster. Hiring dads and parapro's left and right. Totally forgot that you might want to add some experienced HS coaches to your staff. Fueled a lot of optimistic talk amongst the X Nation with no idea of how to back all of that up.

I'm for Russellville but Mayfield is too good and the fact that Mayfield runs the Spread offense which allows them to score quickly and RVK runs the Veer which means they want a "grind it out" game does not bode well for RVK in this one IMO.

It'll be a lot more interesting if Trinity doesn't win it all...

I think Cantrall lives in Colorado cause he's smoking some serious stuff when doing his rankings.... BG is a 3.4 point favorite on Manual....BG was up 35-7 at half against them...off by God knows how much had they played a full game BG is a 5.2 point favorite against X....BG actually beat them by 14...off by 8.6 from the actual score BG is a 7.3 point favorite against Lex Cath....BG actually beat them by 27...off by 19.7 from the actual score BG is a 12.5 point favorite against Warren Central...BG actually beat them by 34...off by 21.5 from the actual score He ranked a Highlands team that gave up the most yardage in the HISTORY of KY to Warren Central and beat them 71-69 over a BG team that beat that same Central team 48-14? Somehow Scott Co. and their rampage through the orphanages of Lexington is held in higher regard than BG's similar rampage through the best KY has to offer AND the best TN has to offer.

1A - Russellville - I'd just like to see someone from the West get over the Mayfield wall...and Myers is a great guy. 2A -Glasgow - I'm a Rick Wood fan 3A - Wayne Co. - From where that program has come from to being a state contender is pretty special. I'm all for Coach Thompson and co. 4A - Anyone but Highlands (or Collins, after what they did to the Raiders last year). 5A - The Purples...because it will continue to make the Trinity people squirm, and that's been really fun to watch this year. 6A - X, because after all they have been through, it'd be awesome to see them take it all.

Let's run down the competition for BG for "best team in KY" THIS year... Trinity - Barely beat Manual...BG was up 35-7 at half of their scrimmage with Manual, and it wasn't even that close...then they lost to Male... Male - Lost to Manual...see note above Highlands - Do I need to go through the stats from the Warren Central game? No matter if Highlands was playing kids from the Jr. Pro League, if you give up the all-time most yards in KY state history in a game, you uh, do not get to call yourself the best team in KY that year... Scott Co. - They are the only team I think that has a case that can't be disputed by a common opponent or basic arithmetic...they're claim will be tested in the 6A playoffs when they have to play T, X, or Male.

I hope T and X make it a clean sweep of Ohio's powers this week. For a very rare instance, I'll say, "Go Rocks!"

Go Lou. St. X! I hate what X's administration has handed these kids for a coaching staff, but they're still a stout team and it's still a chance to step on Ohio's pride to a degree.

WC will beat Graves by 14+ in the 2nd round. I'm putting that out there. I may be wrong, but I doubt it...and I doubt very much that you will find more than 1 year in every 10 where 90% of people wouldn't pick WC over Graves in a head-to-head.

What a joke... 1. The 2014 schedule is already set...as it is for all teams in KY. Only cancelations or bowl game changes would cause a KY team to have a different schedule. Schedules are made based on predominantly 2-year contracts. All of BG's commitments are for 2013-2014. 2. You, uh, barely beat Manual who BG completely demolished and you lost to Male...you're not exactly the Big Bad Wolf anymore to the rest of KY. Listening to the X people and based on the Manual game, I think you'd be hard pressed to find any non-shamrock-green supporters of the idea that T would beat BG this year. There are no Quick's, Hatcher's, or Robey's on T's team this year. Forgive BG folks, along with the rest of the major programs in KY, if they fail to quake in fear of you all. 3. It will be VERY hard for BG to break the record anyways. Blackman, Lex. Cath., John Hardin, St. X, Warren Central, and a State Championship game all stand in the way to the magical number...and BG graduates a TON after this year. 4. Trinity hardly cut through the national schedule it now plays en-route to its streak. If, and that's a HUGE "if" BG breaks it, then it would be hard to argue that BG's opponents were not superior to T's during the streaks.

The 6A playoffs become, for the first time in a LONG time, very interesting.
