I think Bullitt East is a top 10 team and Graves Co, as well. I know WC has improved a lot since the 1st of the year, but, that Madisonville loss still stands out to me, especially after what the Maroons have done since. I'm not sold on Harlan Co either. Where's the quality wins? Seems anytime they play a good opponent, they get exposed.

If that's what holds you back so be it, but remember that WC went on the road and beat Owensboro by 21.... one week after Owensboro wiped Madisonville off the map. That alone should tell you that the result is probably not the same now. The first game is what happens when a young team plays their first game and makes numerous special teams mistakes. Two blocked punts and a muff that game and I don't recall one of either since. Definitely no blocked punts.

If you were replacing them, I think Bullitt East is a better choice than Graves County. I'd have Graves County as razor thin right below Warren Central.

Hey DragonFire, wouldn't WC play Graves County if both team win their first round playoff games?

My point is you have to look at the entire seasons body of work and that Mad'ville loss looks more and more like a stinker. Graves has 2 losses to Mfd and McCracken and I think they have some quality wins in PT and Murray and went undefeated in district. The OBoro win was a good win, but, I personally don't think they're any better than PT or Murray and Graves doesn't have any bad losses on there resume.

I personally think it should be more about who you'd pick to win if they played each other but to each their own. We'll know in a couple weeks who is right.

FWIW I view the Paducah and Owensboro wins as roughly equal. I don't think Murray is in the same class as those.

Calling it right now, Dragons over Eagles.

Outside of Owensboro, who you claim is an equal win to PT, who is WCs other quality wins? I'd say they're nowhere near as good as Murray. If Graves and WC meet up, which they probably should, I'd give the edge to Graves, but, not by much and it wouldn't surprise me if WC won, but, as of right now, Graves resume and overall body of work looks better, imo.

I do think if Graves played BG, Boyle, Desales, OBoro and Madville, they'd be better than 1-4, most likely 2-3 or 3-2, with Desales being a tossup. I think if WC played Graves schedule, they'd have at least 3 losses vs the 2 that Graves has.

I didn't say that WC had any others. Their problem this year is they had very little middle ground. They will take four losses to extremely high tier teams and have four wins over low tier teams. Madisonville is a bad loss and Owensboro a good win. In hindsight they were scheduled over their head whereas I believe Graves had a more manageable slate.

The only thing Graves gets on WC if they play the same schedule is they win the Madisonville game. If scheduling had been more fortuitous and Madisonville had been the third game and not the first, then I believe Graves and WC both go 2-3 through that slate.

It just seems to me that you're laying a lot on that first loss to Madisonville. Yes, it was bad. It was the first game from a team that was replacing a lot of pieces including an entirely new line. The very next game they were tied with Boyle County at 16 midway through the 4th. That's how far they came in a week. 21 of Madisonville's 27 points came off of two blocked punts where one player made the same mistake both times in how he blocked the guy who got it and then a muffed punt on the 5. They corrected those errors.

Yes, if you'd like me to match win for win then Graves has the advantage. I could try to argue with you why I see it my way but ultimately for both of us I believe it boils down to me picking the team I root for and you picking your hometown neighbor. I just think you need to get over the Madisonville result. Wouldn't happen today and I think you know that.

I'm not a Graves fan at all. I don't hate them or wish they'd lose every game, but, I could take them or leave them to be honest. I just think rankings should be determined by a full seasons body of work and imo, Graves is a little more impressive. I think both are better than Mad'ville at this point, but, just because it was week one, doesn't exclude the loss from the seasons results. WC has certainly improved from week 1, no ones disputing that fact, but, imo, they aren't near as good as they've been the past 2-3 years, which I think you'd agree, and Graves is a little better than they've been the last 2-3 years and even when WC was better, the Eagles played pretty close games against them, so, I don't think it's a stretch to think they may be a little stronger this year. Good luck against them in a couple of weeks.

No, if they played 5 times, JH would win the majority, but, Graves could play with them, yes. JH isn't as good as they've been lately either, but, still a solid team. JH also doesn't have any bad losses on there schedule, although I think they should have beaten Desales, still not a bad team to get beat by.
