  1. More lumps and bumps to come for the ROCKs for sure with the schedule looming. Still I'm OK with learning about the teams weaknesses instead of pounding a local school. The coaches will make season long adjustments and be ready for Phase III when it rolls around. As a side note the Ensworth's running game was spearheaded by their "pulling" center which is quite a talent for that position. I have not seen such skill at doing that since a kid for Trinity did it a few years back. I think his number was #55.
  2. With all due respect to my Xavierian brothers, please don't compare your running game to Ensworth's.
  3. Nice answer by T but that missed XP could haunt them. Now they get to stop Furby... Maybe.
  4. Furby reminds me of Mike Bush. What a strong runner!
  5. Trinity will take some lumps and bumps this year with the toughest schedule a Kentucky team has ever scheduled. I think they can win this one though. Rocks- 28, first of many state champion opponents- 24. Did I mention the Rocks schedule is awesome?
  6. Tea leaves say John Hardin wins this rather easily... but there will be some solid D-line play on both sides. JH- 30 Seneca- 7
  7. There you go with one of your good posts again! I think that is a fair assessment for August 16th... a long way to go before the Gridiron Bowl... it will be a fun season and I fully expect X and T to have a 3rd round playoff date in their future.
  8. That was for the most part a very impressive showing by the Rocks. Strong offense without really do anything tricky or special. Reggie was like 21-29 for 300+ yards and 4 tds (in less than 3 quarters). T will need to work on some db play but their rushing defense was great. No Bluebird ground game at all. Great fan support by Highlands, hats off to them. Rock nation can feel pretty good about a convincing scrimmage win over a top notch team.
  9. Very surprised at the low point total for X offense vs the SK defense. I'm sure coach W will make the needed adjustments.
  10. AT. I know you have tiger stripped pajamas but to say this takes away from your usually credible posts. Trinity's level of play (players) over recent years has been head and shoulders and many points above everyone else including Poplar Level High School. It's OK to admit such... now that the major pain is over. The talent pool appears far more even this year and I expect Trinity will not dominate. In fact, they could have a losing record for the first half of the season.
  11. This will be an excellent scrimmage. Central has a lot back, awesome linebackers and a qb to run the show. Love the approach the Yellow Jackets have to their season, play good teams from any Class then win state!
  12. I'm thinking any "practice" that brings in $20,000 is a little more than a practice....
  13. It will be ugly for SK. This is the dawning of the Age of Aquari-X! Hey I should trademark that!
  14. Any way you slice this UK is in trouble this year.
  15. An 85% Maxwell is still the better choice.
  16. Good luck Rocks and take it easy Friday... far bigger fish to fry as the season rolls on.
  17. Love the Rocks but this #2 ranking is silly. Now, should they run the table, it's not high enough!
  18. A few years ago when Trinity lost big to St. X in the regular season then started playing guys both ways and beat X in the title game, all I heard was how sad it was that Trinity, with so many players, had to play guys both ways.... Kinda funny how the wind changes. Just sayin.
  19. What did you delete? did my compliments for St X leave you speechless? If you need me to say something negative I can... your avatar disgraces a great man.
  20. Most "in state" folks are sticking with Trinity but on a national level St. X is getting the nod. That's my observation. I'd say the gap is as close as it has been in a long while. If the game were played today I'd say neither team would be favored by more than 3 points.
  21. I am aware of at least one high school program instructing their players to stay off facebook, etc., during the season. Just curious if that is the norm or if that is a new trend in high school? Also, what do you think about such a policy? IMO I think it's a reasonable demand... keep the guys focused and prevent any stupid posts.
  22. I will say this looking through my August eyeglasses.... St. X will be very good this year. Nothing they accomplish this season will surprise me. I am very impressed with Mr. Nagle at qb. A huge OL (if they have any speed to go with their Goliath frames they will make life easy for the play caller. The defense won't need to be perfect because the Tig's will score points this year.
  23. You'd be wrong. St. X boasts something like "Tradition Unequaled". Schools that have done things have the right to post and boast (IMO).
